I just installed v1.86 and it's just great!
I only have one prob. In General, Control Panel, when I click on 'OK', I get the following error:
Error code # 429
Description: ActiveX component can't create object
Routine: frmControlPanel cmdOK
OS: Windows 2000
Version: 1.86.1
I press ignore, and that window closes and I can work further. I think that's why I needed to use Shadow's Registry Editor, cause TTDLX wouldn't start, complaining about registry stuff (which is correct, since I haven't run the game since I reinstalled windows).

I also found that after using Shadow's Registry Editor to set the game values, I open TTDXC and go to the configuration settings, it doesn't read the values from the registry. Music is still disabled, and for installation path it says: "23"

Otherwise, great program, I love it!
The only problems, suggestions I would have:
1. It would be great if it wasn't in VB, I just don't like installing all those .ocx files, but oh well :)
2. TTDX Configurator doesn't appear in the alt-tab list on my Win2k machine, so I can't alt-tab back to it, while writing these suggestions??
Update--> doesn't appear if I have the 'more currencies' window open. Kinda strange
3. Maybe the option under general-->'more currencies' should have 'currency symbol before' and 'currency symbol after' mutually exlusive, eg. only 1 can be chosen
4. New Graphics only shows the latest graphics...so for example if I don't go to your website, I would miss the fontrenew set, which is just great!
5. Maybe a F1 function to all settings that points to the relevant item in the ttdpatch manual on the web.
6. Maybe another tab where you can see all the switches in pure, txt form
7. Option 'spread' doesn't specify a value in TTDXC, but if on, is 100. Maybe intentional, or forgotten?

Great work btw :D

This might be a bit off-topic, but I was wondering what programming language you use for the Configurator and if you know a good tutorial for that language.
I heard the stories that they tell of how they labored for this company which sold it's soul to hell

I forgot to mention in the site that you must remove the entire 'TTDXC' registry section if you have that error. Go to start / run and type regedit to enter the registry.

BTW, I am currently on a sort of vacations, I have just arrived and I'm in my dad's notebook (with win95 and 33.6k connection). I'll try to install VB here to do something useful and hide the icons to avoid m dad from noticing such action. Of course I only miss my powerful 1200 Mhz AMD which is 1500 miles away from me now. I could not even install MSN because I burned it in an unbranded CD and the notebook refuses to read it. I hope it reads the RW in which is all the TTDXC stuff.

Also, if you can't get TTDXC to start, then it won't download its most current version either.

Don't worry about notepad, you can get TTDXC to work. Just remove its entries from the Registry like Andrex described, then reinstall it.

Somewhere in there is a folder named "TTDXC": find and delete.

In my case it's \HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\VB and VBA Program Settings\TTDXC

I'm running XP, I don't know if it's in the same place on other systems. But in the Edit menu is a Find or Search command you can use.

Don't delete or change anything other than the TTDXC folder, you can really mess your computer up in there.

You don't have GAMEGFX in your folder/map, patch will not work
Re-install it

I reinstalled and it gave more errors..

here is a screenshot of my TTDX directory right in Cdrive..

should all the TTDXC files be in their own folder?
