TTDpatch is not the same as patched OpenTTD.
To patch openttd you have to compile it. Have you tried to compile unpatched openttd?

No it is not. But I would suggest you take a look at Chill's Patchpack. Bridge/Tunnel-signalling is included and you can just download a binary.

You can install patched binaries you want to test as seperate installations.

Just make a new directory, unzip your downloaded compiled binary in there, put/copy graphics and sound files in the data folder (including needed grfs if required), make an empty config file near the executable (openttd.cfg) and run the exe.

With the method above you can now keep your clean OpenTTD installation clean (free from patched version savegames) and update as you wish without uninstalling/overwriting the other version(s).

You can also run the exe without making the empty config file but savegames will then be saved in your default folder and your config file will contain entries from the patched version. The config file having values the clean version has not is not a problem as OpenTTD skips the values it does not recognize but it may be confusing if you have a problem with clean trunk and have to post your config file ...

I've played TTD for many years, and always download the latest version, but never tried out what you explain. So I need some more explanation.
What you mean to say is that I need two OpenTTD directories (eg Open TDD and OpenTDD2)
How to connect them together?
or is that DATA directory, you mean.

I suggest you make use of the file 'readme.txt' which ships with _every_ version of OpenTTD...
Have a look especially at section 4.2.

It can not be fixed without knowing what "it" is.

More info is needed:
- What is it?
- What have you done/tried?
- What has happened or did not happen?
- If there was an error mesage, what did it say?
- ...

Will try to explain ....
I have installed OpenTTD 1.0.5 in the directory c: \ Program File 2 \ OpenTDD, and extracted (zip) Chill's Patch Pack v11_1 to C: \ Documents and Settings \ Administrator \ My Documents \ OpenTTD, is that correct?, i'm not safe where required files should be copied

i'm not understand where in C:\Programfiler 2\OpenTTD\openttd.cfg i shall put the Patch

and where i shall put all the file down under.....

I guess you are on windows. :)

If you are the administrator and you are logged in as administrator then yes that is the right location, which is not very safe by the way.
If not cut the OpenTTD folder (with everything still in it) and paste it in C: \ Documents and Settings \ user name \ My Documents, but rename the OpenTTD folder first to not confuse your original installation (as your shared folder is there).

Now inside this folder you put an empty config file (in the same folder the exe is).
You will also find a data folder there where you need to put OpenGFX, OpenSFX, flat_blacktiles.grf and the copypaste.grf. You can also use the original files, if you have them, instead of OpenGFX and OpenSFX.
Now running the exe should work without disturbing your orginal installation.
For easier access you can create a shortcut on your desktop pointing at the executable. Rename the shortcut to something recognizable before dragging to your desktop.

If later you want to try another patched version, repeat as above without flat_blacktiles_grf and copypaste.grf in another folder with a different name and the needed grf, if any.
How did OpenTDD know where Chill's Patch Pack v11_1 is ?.
Have you overwritten your original installation in "Program File 2"the first time? Doing so will overwrite the executable ...
If you have, download a compiled OpenTTD v1.0.5 and overwrite it again to restore it.
Or if you have used the installer install it again in program c: \ Program File 2 \ OpenTDD.

Edit:
I did not see the picture at first.
In that folder you need to create openttd.cfg and in that data folder the grf should go.
Do mind that if you are not the administrator that you have to move the folder and rename OpenTTD to for example "Test_binaries".
Then later you can for example make a new foler 1 level up for Cargodist, IS, ..., whatever you want to test untill your hardisk is full ;)

Edit2:
You do not need the patch anymore as the source is patched before being compiled into a binary. you're set to go ...
In OpenTTD patches are applied to the sourcecode.
In TTDPatch the original binary is patched with a patch as you understood it.

it's still not working.....

yes, i'm in windows....
yes i'm working/playing as administrator, i have always done that....is that a problem for the game ?

Maybe my Norwegian directory structure is a problem for the game ??

readme.txt (4.1)
say: Do NOT copy files included with OpenTTD into "shared" directories...
i have not done that...it's only new graph and another stuff there...

so... my shared dir look like this....
SHARED.jpg
SHARED.jpg (87.25 KiB) Viewed 522 times
and the openttd.cfg is emty..

And the OpenTTD is like before.
and starting like this....
GAME105.jpg
GAME105.jpg (204.3 KiB) Viewed 522 times
..and if i put everything in the same folder...its working....

It's not on the OpenTTD side a problem. It's rather a general problem ;-) that doing so is a big no-no.

And the ChillsPatchPack_10_7 dir doesn't contain those files either? Note: all subdirectories are also searched of the data directories.

i see.

OpenTDD works great. And I want so much that the patch will also work in the way that the author (chill core) describes. So I do not have to copy the patch over again each time I've taken a new version of OpenTDD

I like this patch as well with the other graphic elements I have added OpenTDD.
