No Farms in Subarctic

Hello all,

I ran a quick search and looked through the FAQ to no avail so I figured I'd see if anyone had any solutions to my issue.

I've been playing OpenTTD for a few months and have loved it. It's a brilliant game that runs seamlessly on my machine. At first, I wasn't very good at it but then I began to pick up the basics. Recently, I started a game with the subarctic map set. What I noticed was that there were absolutely no farms. Does anyone have any idea why this would happen? I tried going through the settings but was unable to find what might be causing this.

Welcome to the forums.

Farms will only appear below the snowline. Setting the snowline to a very low value might be causing this problem.

That seems like it may be the issue. I won't be on my computer until later tonight but I will check-in. Thank you for your help!

I know this is an insane bump but I wanted to follow up and say that setting the snowline to a lower level did not solve the issue. There are still no farms in the subarctic.

It might be the newgrfs you use. Could you please upload your savegame?

Absolutely.

I actually don't use any NewGRFs though. I tried to use French town names but it didn't work. I subsequently turned it off.

The file is attached. I misnamed it but you should get the idea.

Euhm ... For more room below the snowline ... would it not be better if you try to set it higher? :?

Edit:
I have not looked at the savegame before posting as it was posted while I was typing ...

I misread what he wrote. I apologize. I will try that right now. I feel dumb especially since it was a simple misreading of a few words.

For a town name newgrf to work you first need to add it in the newgrf settings window. After you've down that open the "Game Options" window and chose the new town names from the dropdown. After that start a new game and it should work.
