Variable snow line newgrf - translation needed

Post by planetmaker » 18 Aug 2010 19:42

Hi,

I'm currently updating the variable snowline NewGRF ( http://bundles.openttdcoop.org/snowlinemod/releases/ ) and would like to ask interested parties to translate 5 strings into their native tongue:

Variable Snowline height. Author: planetmaker
Snow height in January
Snow line height on 1st January. Height is in tiles. Default=2
Snow height in July
Snow line height on 1st July. Height is in tiles. Default=8

Please also state the language which you translated it into.
Cheers & enjoy the untranslated one so far (available on bananas) ;-),
planetmaker

Dutch:

Variabele Sneeuwgrens. Auteur: planetmaker
Sneeuwgrens in januari
Hoogte sneeuwgrens op 1 januari. Hoogte is in tegels. Standaard=2
Sneeuwgrens in juli
Hoogte sneeuwgrens op 1 juli. Hoogte is in tegels. Standaard=8

Note: the title actually should translate literally as "Variabele Sneeuwgrens Hoogte", but that sounds silly. As snowline implies a heigth, I removed the word 'height'

Thank you :-) Also Russian and Belarusian are now added to the NewGRF :-) I guess we're nearing a release.

For those who want to check their translation already ingame, there are nightly builds of this newgrf available: http://bundles.openttdcoop.org/snowlinemod/nightlies/ Make sure you use an OpenTTD nightly newer than r20255.

May I suggest:

Variabel snögräns. Upphovsman: planetmaker
Snögräns i januari
Snögräns den 1:a januari. Höjd i rutor. Standard = 2
Snögräns i juli
Snögräns den 1:a juli. Höjd i rutor. Standard = 8

That would make it a little bit less Swenglish...

Yours is better, I was a little bit lazy and translated most of it word by word.

Colossal, I am very happy, that you are being so active, and support the usage of hungarian within the game.
I made some modifications, since in hungarian you never write months with capital letters. In the original it is written July, you translated it to June instead of július (July).

So to summarize it, here is my version to hungarian:
Változtatható hóhatár-magasság. Készítő: Planetmaker
Hóhatár januárban
A hóhatár magassága január 1-én. A magasság mértéke négyzetekben. Alapértelmezett=2
Hóhatár júliusban
A hóhatár magassága július 1-én. A magasság mértéke négyzetekben. Alapértelmezett=8
Üdvözlettel / Mit freundlichen Grüßen / Best regards:
Norbert
