[REL] AU NSW 86 Class Electric Locomotive

AU NSW 86 Class Electric Locomotive

The New South Wales 86 class is a class of 50 mainline electric locomotives introduced
from 1982 in the state of New South Wales by the State Rail Authority. The locomotives
were built by Commonwealth Engineering of Granville, New South Wales, with electrical
equipment supplied by Mitsubishi. They were also based at Lithgow for predominately
freight operation, and were lighter than the preceding 85 class.

In Service: 1983
Obsolete: 2020
Max Speed: 130 km/h - 81 mph
Weight: 120 t
Power: 2,700 kW - 3,620 hp

Original MSTS model made By: Phillip N.G. Chorusch

NOTE: I ran these in Lomo to look for errors but hadn't noticed any, but, I may not have run them thru every possibility
so if someone sees anything wrong with them, please inform me and I'll fix it. Thanks

What one would that be? I'm on Train-Sim.com right now downloading all the NSW stuff. There's a bunch of engines and cars. Maybe what you're wanting is on there. Maybe I should do an Assie pack.

That would be superb. I can then fill in any gaps. If I ever get a chance to make anything. I've just had 3 week "off" uni, but spent half of that time at work, and the rest doing extra curricular stuff at uni... I would have had stuff out already if I hadn't had problems rendering sprites in Inventor... At least I can still do it if I export the model to 3ds max.. but having both programs open at once slows down and frustrates me :P Still, I'll get them done one day.

I hope that NSW stuff includes 48, 81 and 82 classes :) I see them more than anything else.

hmm. I feel I've seen some of those somewhere before...

And you won't need to do the 620/720s, Hunter cars, or the Endeavour/Explorers as Hodcowicz did them in the Cityrail (and Oceania) sets.

Alright, kewl, thanks Hammo. I found others on Australian MSTS Workshops Forum and will put another list together when I get around to it. I'll be sending out emails for permission as soon as I get the others listed to see which ones you all would like. I read in one of cityrail thread that someone was looking for a Red Rattler and I think it's on the Aussie site but I'm not sure if it's the one. I'll get the list up soon.

Also, I can use some info on the engines you all would like done. I'll see what I can find but I figure an Aussie would know more than me. Thanks...

Well, the cityrail pack in a way has been done, but only in what we call the "citydecker" livery: stainless steel with yellow doors and fronts. Helps people with sight difficulties apparently. Before that, there was a livery applied from 1996 that consisted of a blue band across the middle with the Cityrail logo. When the first came out in 1972, there were in fact three possible liveries: tuscan red, blue and white PTC and just plain default stainless steel with no paint at all.

Yes, I was forgetting Tuscan Red and PTC... but those models (at least as shown in the picture) didn't have those liveries anyway.
