Signals on the correct side

I've just been playing against AI programs and I notice that some (I've not yet identified which ones) build the rail signals on the correct side of the track as specified in the settings. However, some AIs build signals on the 'other' side and ignore game settings.

Is there a 'standard' for this aspect of AI rail building?

For reference, my road and rail vehicles both drive on the left. I've always done it this way...many years of playing...and I find it horribly confusing when taking over AI companies with trains driving on the 'wrong' side of the tracks. It makes upgrading and improving these tracks much harder as the signals have to go the other way around!

There is no set side. AIs will just build the way they are programed to.

Rio Grande & Denver trains always drive on the right. That double track code was hard enough without trying to read the settings and reverse the them! As an excuse, I will say it's a North America themed AI. :)

AIAI (so far) have funny circle like railways so it is hard to find "sides". But I plan in future to add sth more normal, with building in style suggested by that setting. But I failed to build double railways in fast way so that setting is no problem.

Actually, I like those circles and have incorporated them into my own designs. For those, signalling isn't an issue as it's basically a linear single track.

I understand that programming an AI is immensely tricky and considerations like using in-game settings is either impossible or ultra-low priority.

Thanks for the replies.
