[OTTD] Large Africa Game

Post by Drummer_si »

I found out about OpenTTD about 3 years ago and i've been playing it on and off since then.

The following are screenshots and save games from a multiplayer game I started with a couple of friends back then. Once we'd finished with it, I kept on developing it over the years! There's some bad track/ junction design and some good designs all in one - I basically learnt everything I know by practicing on this one map..

Some Stats:

Current year: 2269
Trains: 446, Road Vehicles: 203, Ships: 101, Aircraft: 46
Money: > £10 Quadrillion

This was my first Good factory. The junction is rather messay and occassionally jams up

Not being a friend of the environment, I dammed up a river in order to create a NEW food processing station. Much better system, never jams, not used at full potential yet + has expansion room :)

Early junctions were basic cloverleafs - Prone to jamming under heavy traffic!

Later junctions became more complex, supported up to 4 tracks and never jammed up

At the start of the scenario, a number of small islands existed

I expanded these (now MAN MADE) islands to buld mega cities! You can see the bridges at the north of the island providing heavy volumes of passenger traffic!

And now the files:
My African savegame & the original African scenario.

I will continue playing this game until every single industry is connected to the grid!

This is NOT an example of good building and planning procedures, as I have been learning whilst playing this over the past 3 years -- However, if you care to comment or make any suggestions on how to make it better, or what to do next, please go ahead :D
