Suggestion: Rightclick to dismiss cursor objects

I do of course realize that I can press the esc key to escape out of any menu option that might be at the tip of my cursor but playing many other games out there, and after a week and something now of playing almost 8 to 10 hours a day, I find that I still right click when Ihave something attached to my cursor (like a road building tool) to try to get it off my cursor. It would be nice if a right click removed the item attached to my cursor as it does the red error meesages. There well maybe a good solid reason that this can't be done, but if it could, tht would be great. I'm really not a game player who likes using hotkeys so... you know, rightclick would be great.
Thanks for reading.

Right click is already used for popping up a tooltip with help for most window buttons.

and right click on the map is already used for scrolling.

Both don't interfer with the suggestion.
This suggestion also could solve a problem I encountered with "persistent tools".
Imagine you want to build a depot and open its window immediately afterwards. With persistent tools turned of you need to do like
Smooth and fast. With persistent tools turned on, you need to do like
which is quite unlucky key sequence for such a often-performed task. On the other hand, persistent tools is much more comfortable for most other tools.
Now
could be a much better solution for that.
The only bad thing I could think of is: you don't want to loose your current tool, but you do so accidentally while scrolling the map. Or the other way around: you want to loose a tool, but it keeps sticking on you because you accidentally scroll the map a little.

Maybe the game could open the window of a depot/station/airport depot directly after having built it, if persistent tools are enabled. Or even better you'd be able to choose (via advanced settings) wether you want the window to open up independently from persistent tools?!

On rail networks I often build many depots for servicing but only use one of them to buy all the trains. I wouldn't like all the depot-windows blocking my sight
Another option to remove the depot issue: building a depot on a place where already a depot is, doesn't build a new depot but opens the window of the existing one. Well it's a little of unexpected behavior, but that would be a smooth solution from the viewpoint of game play
Implementing the right-click thing might be a little tricky, since you have to care for the exceptions: tool-tip and map scrolling.

I can't remember where it is but I was pretty sure that right click dismisses something now, so I just figured why not take it a step further and have it dimiss anything else that happens to be on ones cursor. If that is not the case then I'm simply dreaming it up from using right click in other games to dismiss cursor objects.
