compared to the grf crwaler is there a point to the Wiki sections?

i dare you to find something useful and i dont mean from the two and half saints that actually updated their entry's some times not in the near past.

There's nothing wrong with the category page, as that just sums up all other pages that are newgrf related and to which the appropriate category is applied.

The other page is not very useful though, as it's way harder to maintain than GRFCrawler and BaNaNaS. A link to those two instead would be sufficient for the complete page.

Some GRFs are on the wiki page that aren't on GRFCrawler, such as the Comic House Set.

Well. Technically it's not even released (only found in the nightlies section of the DevZone for testing purposes and as teaser) and currently in some kind of alpha stage. When there'll be some more advanced version it will end up pretty fast on bananas

Yes, I know what you mean. It would be lots of worthless effort to continually update the GRF on bananas every time there is a nightly.

like it was said, its not very useful at its state, it will always be a step behind the GRFCrawler even if some one decide to do the double work of updating it.
so i think that the 'GRFCrawler' should be pointed out as the basic most updated resource.

I don't see your point, GRFCrawler is still mentioned on the page. If someone needs a GRF, who cares where they get it from, so long as they get it?

Says who? GRFCrawler isn't the god of all GRFs, there are other places to find GRFs.

maybe but you have been here for how long? i only returned recently so as newby only introduced to NewGRF, i had the privilege of using that list
unless you mostly know what you looking for this list is useless.
