in game i cant build any industries- i have the settings all right anf enought money and space but it always says site unsuitable- also its ukrs industries- it used to but the latest nightlys dont let you. any help?

the ones that dont work are-factories, food processing plant, steelmill

Could you post a save game of the problem?

Sorry, I don't have the GRF's for Tropic Factories in Temperate. Or many of these Grfs.

Maybe someone with the GRFs can help.

In that savegame I was able to build some secondary industries just fine. For the primary industries you don't have enough money.

okay 10/10 for your reading and also even with only ukrs grf i cant build factories or food procesers or steel works

and posibly off topic i cant use scenario editor to edit my saves anymore- you no- cchange the file type add a factory were you need it-

Scenarios and savegames are the same filetype. Just rename the files.

But my answer may be off. Your sentences doesn't parse for me and the answer is solely based upon a guestimate on what you might mean.

okay, i shall carefuly reiterate. on open transport tycoon deluxe, in the game, i can not build steel mills, factories, or food processing plants, i am using the united kingdom renewal set, and i have 100 million in cash- the buildings cost less than 1 million each- it says unsuitable site when i attempt to build the industries in question. anhy ideas or was i unclear?


yes i also no about file convertion but it wont un pause.

Well, maybe you are trying to build a tropical factory in temperate, or a food processing plant in temperate.

ukrs industries set- try searching it? theres 25 pages of it

theres like this huge game with millions of players, there3 are loads of self made extras you can get, its got like huge things called maps and you can build trains and boats and planes a nd trucks and trams and roads. im supprised that youhaventy heard of it on this forum, its like a huge part of it-

this topic is for answers to a problem in game not about being piky with typing or abreviations or anything else. i thought this was for problems not people with problems

Wtf do you mean?

DaleStan means that the real name of the game is just OpenTTD, not Open Transport Tycoon Deluxe. After ignoring an error about train lenght (undestandable since the only GRF i have from the list is eGRTVS), I was able to build steel mills and factories in that savegame. My bet is that there's a problem in one of the GRFs, or in your GRF combination, or that you are using a GRF that limits industry placement and you don't know it.

Everyone understood what OP meant.

Most of the industries have requirements as to where they must be build with you GRF configuration; most secondary industries need to be build close to towns. The fact that the error messages are so cryptic is that you're using an old version of the industry NewGRF that didn't have non-cryptic error messages.

"OpenTTD" stands for "OpenTTD". Nothing more and nothing less.

thanks to rudibium- i noticed while playing last night that all the factories i couldnt get had been built round a tiny town - so now it has a massive station to take everything to. i'd stoked 50000 tons of steel in preperation, i will look into the grfs.
