content download problem
Hello everybody, I have a "small" problem with the online content download system. The problem is - it does not work. ["could not connect to the content server"]
Yes, I've allowed communication for openttd.exe through the firewall (even disabled it at all) when it was asked for, and yes, I have tried a different connection (lucky to have a laptop). But nothing seems to work for me.
I was eager to try some new AI's since the first rumor of the new AI system, and also a few graphic modifications, but it seems i have gone out of luck
Any suggestions please?

Re: content download problem
I see no reason on our side why you wouldn't be able to connect; the server has been interrupted that night. However it could've been a routing issue somewhere on the internet, but that would mean you could not connect to http://content.openttd.org/ . Besides that the only reason I would know is still a firewall somewhere at 'your' side of the connection; this could be one at your ISP though.

Hmmm. That page has redirected me to http://bananas.openttd.org/en/ . Maybe not exactly the solution I was looking for, but... there are so many files! I'll look into it. Thanks!
Re: content download problem
I'm experiencing this issue right now.
It seems it's not just me;

EDIT: Now redirects to BaNaNaS

There was an issue with our main server and some things did not restart automatically they should have done. It should work again now.LSky wrote:I'm experiencing this issue right now.

Re: content download problem
Hello!
I'm having trouble downloading content as well. Content will download to some very small amount (like 130kb) and then simply stop :'-(

Re: content download problem
So you get the list of the content then? My window just stays empty and after a while it gives the connection problem error.
Re: content download problem
Actually my window won't load at all now either :'-(LSky wrote:So you get the list of the content then? My window just stays empty and after a while it gives the connection problem error.
I'm playing the beta 1.3 if it makes any difference.
Update:
Things are working again on my end ^^
