In Pictures: 'All clear for the guns'

A series of really informative posters from World War II about how different the railways were during wartime to peacetime. Especially that Cheap Returns were suspended from 1942 to deter non-essential travel, or that trains were frequently delayed to prioritise freight - what would the freight companies do today if they looked at their allocated timings on the WCML compared to Virgin!

I like the "all clear for the guns" poster because of the reversal of priorites between the freight and passengers trains

also the last poster is intersting for me....

"In war and peace we serve"

and then the british govenment abadoned the railways after all they did...
