by using less smilies.

and additionally, by describing what you already tried to do, and which problems you encountered.

we are (mostly) not psychic. and even if we were, your mind would scare us from reading it.

do you have another existing installation of OpenTTD? in that case, you can just unpack the files there.

What is "all the files"? Where did you get them from? What did you do with them? Did you have a look at the files you got and read the do-not-readme? Did you have a look at http://wiki.openttd.org ? What is difficult to understand there, where do your problems start?

And foremost: have a look at my signature under "how to ask questions".

Try reading the readme file, it's all suppose to be in there. You could also try to not act as an 8 year old child and actually be more mature because you are bloody annoying and no one will be willing to help you properly if you behave like this.

I'll go ahead and just directly answer your question by pointing you to a very helpful post by Darkvater:

http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php? ... it=nightly

To wit:
"Just download OTTD-(OS)-nightly_build.zip, extract it to your OpenTTD folder overwriting all necessary files (it's best to create a backup copy, and use that) and start as always."

Note:
"OTTD-(OS)-nightly_build.zip" will be named something different each time the nightly is posted; right now it is "openttd-trunk-r15817-windows-win32.zip" for my system. Linux users would use a version compatible with their systems, people using 64-bit CPUs would use a version compatible with their systems and so on.

Example:
I too have wondered about the nightlies, and my search for a concise answer brought me to the above thread. Just a few moments ago I followed Darkvater's instructions (at least I hope I did... ). I already had the Windows-version of TTD installed, with 0.7.0-RC1 installed over it, so I just made a right-click copy of my OpenTTD folder and its contents (literally named "Copy of OpenTTD") and extracted the r15817 zip file (using the program WinRAR) to that folder and told it "Yes to all" when it wanted to overwrite files. I wanted to see the One Way Path Signals and sure enough, there they were. Oddly the toolbox for all of the semaphores and their electric counterparts didn't appear though I've seen screenshots of the extended selection; had to use the ctrl key to cycle through them. There's a reason for that I'm sure, but I'm not concerned about that as it is just a nightly instead of the official release.

Edit: Expanded "Note:" for more explanation.

You should also make decent topic titles. Topics that say "HELP" or "URGENT" make me less likely to help and make me act on the thread less urgently. And I'm fairly sure I'm not the only one. The topic title should give people an idea of what the topic is about without having to read it.

Ditto. Change the topic title if you want me to read your post.

You can enable that in the Advanced Settings > Construction > Signals. It's disabled by default.

And that's what I get for setting the res to 1600x1200 on a 42" Aquos: Eye strain making me miss settings.

Also, thank you for doing the Transrapid rail. So much better than the standard maglev graphic. As for real life, I really hope the world takes to the Transrapid company's maglev tech. Seems the best variant out there today. Several projects have been in the early stages here in the US. And as much as the Republicans were lying about it, sadly the maglev link from Las Vegas to Los Angeles isn't set to get any of the money from the stimulus bill. Oh well, I suppose I'll just have to settle for laying down your tracks in a heightmap of the US...
