scenarios to save in shared folder instead of gamefolder

I wondered why scenarios are saved in the gamefolder and savegames in the shared folder under mydocuments?
Wouldn't it be better, that the scenarios are saved in the shared folder too? So that you can play a scenario you build in a older version than the one you are actually playing.
At the moment I must copy the files manually to the newer nightly version...

Oh... one of those bugs we know about for a long time, we know how to fix, but always forget to fix because we aren't remembered of it. The problem originates with the installer installing a few default scenarios in the program directory and then OpenTTD decides that there already is a scenarios directory and it doesn't make one in your home directory and then it defaults to the scenario directory in the program directory.
Fixing it would mean making a scenarios directory where you can write in your home directory, use that as default and 'virtually copy' the files from the program directory when trying to load a scenario. However, it takes quite a bit of time to actually implement that and it'll be probably forgotten by tomorrow.
