Sorry to ask pretty n00b questions guys, but is there any way to combine train sets ? Like to take a few engines from one and merge them into another ? Would help greatly in a Europe scenario.

Also, i was wondering if anyone knew of the whereabouts of the full Swiss Train Set, as i have 'The Swiss Taster Set by James Vassie', and i was wondering if the taster set had been fully upgraded to a proper set ?

Thanks :)

There is a patch that allows multiple sets, I forgot its name but someone else is sure to know.
AFAIK the Swiss Set has only got to the taster stage.

in 0.7, you can enable the setting "allow multiple newgrf vehicle sets" in the advanced settings dialog. But be aware that this can cause side effects like wrong prices.

You can't, however, mix and match individual engines from different sets; you either get the whole set or nothing...

I always thought that OTTD should have a download grf system like Locomotion, but the side effect is that you need to download and place many grf in this case.

It's as safe as the stable releases: there's no guarantee it will not break you computer, it will not steal your car, etc, etc. So as any good citizen of the digital world you should make regular backups and be aware of how to restore them.

The 0.7 of OTTD is now (feb. 2009) at beta stage. Make a backup of your scenarios, put them to the folder "scenarios" in the program folder of OTTD and try out. You can only fail or enjoy. ;-)
