Just curious, what's in there that would make you want to go back 10k revisions?

So... on which part of making that patch pack do you need help?

EDIT:
I propose you get yourself a mercurial repository of OpenTTD and start adding the patches in a patch queue. Start with Aali's integrated cargodest + IS patch. Then add others.

Do you know how to compile OpenTTD yourself? Some win32 binary doesn't help you much, as patches can't be added to that.

Start with compiling current trunk using the compiler of your choice (there are a few possibilities). Then figure out how to compile trunk+patch of your choice. Then figure out how to sync a patch with trunk. Diagonal level crossings is VERY old. Then try with two patches and work your way from there.

PS, I believe distant join stations is in trunk already...

Just to add to this point: Once you're so far on the track that you can start merging two patches, start with merging two patches which are fairly recent (e.g. filter_by_cargo, station_build_bui,...) and see how they work together. Updating very old patches can be as difficult as writing them completely anew while recent patches might have only few conflicts with trunk.

And also afaik, Distant Join Stations is in trunk.

Now, don't be put off by this seemingly long track. It's possible, I did it myself, the result was wwottdgd/2 after three months or so :D

Check the development forum. There's a BIG sticky posting on this issue.

EDIT: has this thread always been in this forum? oO

for a start any you like (most recent).
When it comes to testing how to patch, get for a starter the same revision as the patch was made for (the revision is often mentioned in the patch file or in the posting where it is found). Join #openttd in IRC.

Distant-join-stations is already in Nightly!
So you don't have to put it in extra.

I wish you the best in making an AlainIn or AlainPP! ;)

MeusH wrote:If you're using windows, you can download TortoiseSVN, install and do the following:

Download the source files:
Make a new folder
Right click on it
Choose "SVN Checout..." from the menu
Set data fields like on attachement 1
Hit OK, wait 5-20 minutes for all files to download

Choose the diff file:
Right click on folder you've downloaded files to
Choose "TortoiseSVN > Apply Patch..." from the menu
Browse for .patch or .diff file

Apply the changes:
Usually, right clicking on filelist window (attachement 2) and clicking "Patch all" should work, but sometimes there is something wrong (attachement 2 - files marked red):

Don't worry, often application will download other revision and everything will work.
However, if you're experiencing problems (marked red) ask patch developer and tell him what's wrong. Tell him what diff file have you downloaded and what revision have you downloaded using "SVN Checkout"

Happy patching :)
