Livestock Problems OTTD r14575

Hi all,

An interesting problem with OTTD r14575 (and earlier), i'm not exactly sure what is causing it.

Basically i build a road vehicle, in this case from eGRVTS, i fit it to carry livestock from point A (A farm) to point B (A food factory). The road vehicle will, once started then either just go to point A, load, then refuse to go to point B, instead just driving around in the nearest loop of road. Or it will never find point A to load and just drive around the map endlessly. An interesting point is that when i select the vehicle its destination is flickering very fast between all the points on its orders. When i remove all but one order the flickering stops, but it will still not find that point.

All other goods seem to be fine, for example the grain trucks operate correctly from the same points, this seems exclusive to livestock...

My NewGRF configuration is as follows... I know it's a massive amount of GRFs but i've never had problems before starting the attached scenario... I've also attached a screenie of the grf list for version numbers and my savegame, try building a livestock road vehicle and see what happens

and with all these grfs you think it's because of the game?! try without all the stuff and see if it happens.

If you're using eGRVTS, horses have to use in line stations. I know in my case when i tried to send horses to....whatever the other type of stations are called, the same flickering happened.

Hi, thanks for the prompt replies.

I didn't know about the in-line depots for horses, I'll remember that for the future, however the problem applies to all road vehicles from any set when i try to transport livestock. I am not using in-line depots for the livestock so will try to change the layout to allow for in-line ones, though this doesn't explain why the grain trucks are fine...

As to reducing the GRFs i have already tried this, only retaining the PBI, ISR, and UKRS sets as these are required to run the scenario, but the problem still applies. As an additional problem when loading my save just now it appears all the livestock road vehicles have disappeared :shock: so i rebuilt them and the problem still occurs.

Also with regards to the volume of GRFs i use, this has never been a problem before, even with a 2048x2048 scenario and all ECS industries and all the sets below too, so i doubt its the amount of GRFs im using, more i guess a problem with either A) OTTD Version B) One of the transport sets. Though i don't see if it were B) why the UKRS set has been no problem before but may be in this scenario; so my conclusion is that it is something to do with either the game version, the PBI set, or the ISR set

For quick reference rather than downloading the PNG above i'm using the PBI version 1.5 (win), PBI Brick extension 1.5 (win), UKRS 3.04 (win), UKRS Add-on 3.04 (win) and ISR 0.8.0 (win)

The "use drive-through stop only" applies to all articulated vehicles (vehicles with more than one part).

The horse carriages in eGRVTS are of course all articulated, and so are some of the trucks. The original vehicles are all not articulated.

OK, converted all my stops to in-line stops, and reset all the vehicle orders. At first this didn't work but i discovered that the Lumber Mill GRF (For lumber in the temperate climate) was also causing problems with livestock, so i removed it and all now works.

So in short the problem with livestock trucks was actually two problems... A) Not using in-line depots, which meant when i removed all the GRFs i still got the same error, even without eGRVTS (using default vehicles) because of B... B) Even once everything was turned to in-line depots, the Lumber Mill GRF was causing problems with livestock cargos for some reason...

Thanks for all the help in resolving this issue... I will head over to the lumber mill thread and report this issue there...
