I think the lights in the tutorial are a bit too yellowish. Modern people often uses flouroscent light, so should be lighter.

You can use what ever colour you wanted. You could have pink lights if you wanted (And if you did, you may want to consider your sanity).
But anyway, it's an old thing. Just thought it might come in handy

I'd say most streets in such city usually have dense public lighting, not just the major avenues.

I know that actually , but I sometimes can't find light poles in this picture this dark . I have to keep my eyes open for light poles. I also can't be bothered to 'light' all posts, so I just leave it like that.
