Thanks for reporting, Orb.

I also just started a List of reported bugs at the wiki, so that everyone can easily check what bugs have, and what bugs have not been reported. Hopefully that saves people some time looking if 'their' bug has been reported or not.

I've seen that you mentioned a bug called some characters are missing, and your fix is to add a new, bold characterset. Could you add these two characters, too? (ő-Ő) (ű-Ű)

The fix for the missing characters isn't really a bold typeface, but those missing characters will be added as soon as the bold typeface is added. So a fix combined with something new.

But yes, I can add those characters if you like.

Your warning about sample.cat and Multiplayer might be obsolete since r14527

http://vcs.openttd.org/svn/changeset/14527

Tested with UKRS and can say, it works!

Neat!
Thanks for pointing that out, Ammler!

So, when is the third release planned for ? Any black-square kill is welcome !
Anyway, warm thanks for the work so far ...

Releases aren't planned. There will be a release as soon as there's something to release. Development has a bit stalled right now. We still need a bunch of buildings and the monolev vehicles.

You can follow most of the progress at the wiki page, as it lists what's missing and the current status on those missing parts.

But don't worry, it will get done some day. Some sort of christmas present would be nice...

I found a little bug or glitch: In some places the company colors aren't displayed (see attachment). Don't know if this is just a currently lacking feature.
I run OpenTTD with the 8bpp-optimized blitter.

That's a bug indeed. I thought I had those fixes, but apparently one escaped

Try moving the original trg1r.grf files and such to a different place, just get 'em out of the OTTD data folder. Then check what happens.
If that doesn't work, place a screenshot of the contents of your openttd data folder and/or check if you have the opengfx.obg file in there.

This looks outstanding. I'm certainly going to try this. Well done to everyone involved!

Hi All,

I promised I would come up with a christmas present. Still a bit early, but if I don't release it now it would probably have to wait till next year...

Anyhow, may I introduce to you: OpenGFX Alpha 3.0!

Whats new you might ask?
- Some new buildings
- The tropical sawmill
- The MonoLev wagons
- Some minor bugfixes.

The improved font has to wait because coding that is a real pain. Not that it's difficult, but it's just utterly boring, so I try to do a small piece every day so that it will get done eventually.

So here you go! r14527 or higher is required.

You guys are awesome.

Hmm, but I have a little request, as long as openttd.grf won't have the rivers self, I guess you are also not able to include them with the replacement. So might it be possible to add them as a "opengfx-newgrf.grf"? I assume, openttd itself is just waiting for a complete sprite set for the default graphics until they can include them. (MB's rivers are for temperate only.)

BTW.: what would happen, if openttd.grf will have new sprites, which aren't yet included in opengfx?

I guess that the same thing would happen as if you were trying to use an older openttdw.grf which doesn't have the sprites with the newer build.. Although I have no idea what would happen then :D..

Check the screenshot below. It's from the latest OpenGFX release, but rivers were in OpenGFX ever since alpha 2.0, maybe even ever since alpha 1.0! :D
Ammler wrote:BTW.: what would happen, if openttd.grf will have new sprites, which aren't yet included in opengfx?
Dunno actually. I guess OpenGFX would need to be updated too. If OpenGFX ever gets included with OpenTTD itself it's up to the devs to delegate the creation of the graphics, similar to what's happening now when openttdw.grf needs to be updated. As long as the additional graphics are GPL'ed, the could be used for the 'original' openttdw and the opengfxw at the same time.

omg  My test somehow failed last time.

So you do not just replace sprites, also add?

Hmm.. but I think that openttdw.grf DOES have river graphics.. Not sure though.. /me gonna check out

EDIT: sprites 1177 and 1178 I guess are openttdw.grf's.. And anyway, didn't openttdw use action5.. So with action 5, we can do anything :P

If we have something we can add without problems (i.e. only the 'simple' newgrf actions), we do also add stuff. Apart from the rivers OpenGFX also features different rail wagons in different climates. And maybe some other stuff I've forgotten about.
