IRC rules

Copied here, so that they have their own thread and are more noticeable.
Warnings for:

1. Excessive use of colour, bold, underline, CAPS, etc.
2. Annoying away scripts. Really. Honestly, who gives a damn about where you're playing Half-life? Or your PC specs? Or anything else? Do you really need to tell everyone on every channel that you're away on the channel?
3. Status nicks. Same as point 2. We don't need to know when you're playing this game, or that game, or going to the toilet.

Kicks for:

1. Annoying spam (advertising, flooding, caps, etc.)
2. Excessive lameness (l33t n1x0rs)
3. "Inappropriate" discussion (and I'm not talking about going off-topic here ...)
4. Do not operate an fserve or DCC server on the channel. BUT we don't mind you sending each other the odd on-topic picture over DCC
5. 3 strikes on the warning offences

Bans for:

1. Excessive spam
2. Soliciting for idlers (No, we won't help you get L)
3. Way-excessive lameness
4. Trying to lay your hands on CD keys, warez copies of the game, etc.
5. We have regulars below the age of consent. No porn links, or you die.
6. Repeat offences on the kicks

You may, at the discretion of channel operators, be reported to IRC opers for:

1. Porn (especially, but not limited to that involving children)
2. Serious warez offences
3. The Usual Suspects (a myriad of -isms)

Fair enough....
Anyway, off to browse the rest of the forums... and I'll stick with msn for now... or maybe I'll just stick with these forums for now :P

They're the rules for the #tycoon channel (which is what you get when you click Chat in the menu here). Believe it or not, people do actually use the channel. :P

But only rarely.

Not that rarely... well, when I'm in there, there's usually something going on. Even if it's just someone else saying "hello". :P

If you dare say more then a few words they threaten to kick you out.

Not pointing a finger though.

I have posted them online since I have found the odd person protesting, and even more ignorant of the rules. For the second issue, I blame myself for not getting them online earlier :)

I have posted them here, since #tycoon on QuakeNet is the tt-forums official channel, and tt-forums is the official messageboard of #tycoon.

Do I assume from this that nobody has any objections to any of the rules? I can be rather flexible if the mood takes me ;)

Yeah, let me type /wa every once in a while if the place seems a bit dead (not in the middle of a busy conversation)...

PS: I know, I'm an op, I should know better. ;)

If /wa does anything annoying, your ass is straight outta there :P

/me is currently listening to Monty Python - Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life

That's what it does, pretty much. (It has some extra info on bitrate, time, etc ;)).

In which case, it comes under Warning #2 :)

While we're at it, could someone please sticky this somewhere so it doesn't drop off the topic list (being slightly important, as it is)? :)

Well, we don't usually sticky things in the Off-Topic forum, but I'll make an exception.
