Hello everybody!

strange thing happens. I haven't played for a few days but I have kept updating the patch with the nighty releases. today I can not get the game working ok. when I launch the game I get the message below (sorry but my system is in Italian):

Incremento la dimensione del codice a 8.5MB.
Sto installando il caricatore del codice.

TTDLOADW.OVL È OK.

La versione del programma non è stata riconosciuta. Si può provare
a partire ugualmente e a determinare le informazioni necessarie, ma se
questo non riuscisse, TTD terminerà in errore.

A seconda di come il tuo PC gestisce i file *GRF, il computer
potrebbe bloccarsi, e potresti perdere dati. Leggi
la sezione "Conflitti di versione" nel manuale di TTDPatch per saperne

If I say "yes" the game starts but I get an error loading TTDPBASE.grf. When I check the grf status I see two TTDPBASE.grf. both in error.
If I disable the grf I get the same but only one TTDPBASE appears in the grf status.
If I remove the grf file the error reads grf missing.

any ideas anybody?

We might have more ideas if you tell us what the error is.

Wrong .grf version perhaps?
try getting the correct version, located in the general ttdpatch section.

that is what it says but it is the same that I have been using since it was published on the ttdpatch site. the file is "ttdpbase.grf 14/04/2007 15:41 316KB".

do you know why I get two lines if it on and one line if it is off?

The file on the patch site needs to be updated.

checked the forum, found the link, and it looks ok now but I had to return to nighty 1777.

nighty 1778 crashes as soon as the microprose logo appears: it turns white and then the application closes. any info? (maybe I should open a new topic or wait for a new nighty...)
this game is just great and gets greater ....! can not stop playing.

I am using r1778 with no problems. Try reinstalling the nightly.

I will try.
