Huh, I've been to Keflavik and it doesn't really seem like the sort of place to have a huge speedtest server!

That said, everybody's supposed to be moving their servers to Iceland to cut on cooling costs.

It'll be measuring the distance from your ISP's servers (which may be a fairly significant away from your exchange), and as such isn't really going to be very accurate.

The problem with speedtest is that as the connections get faster, it's less accurate, as the downloads happen so quickly. I got some similar results at St Andrews - but then, on a university network, you'd expect such speeds!

It's a 100 kB test for download and upload, so I sometimes get 80 mB/s down

upgraded to 8192/512, at least upload got better

Huh, my laptop actually seems to be faster than my desktop. Strange, as they're both on the same wifi and the desktop gets a much better signal.

UK internet still sucks if you're any further than half a kilometre from the exchange, though. I'm about as far as you can get from ours.
