This evening we present OpenTTD 0.5.2-RC1 to you. As usual with these minor releases, we have fixed a fair share of bugs that exist in 0.5.1. The most annoying one would be the bug that crashes the server and client when removing a bridge when a vehicle is still on the ramp.

Downloads are over at http://www.openttd.org/downloads.php Please be patient while SF distributes the files and we compile more binaries.

Have fun with this new release!

Fixed bugs:
  • Fix: Loading some TTDP savegames caused an instant assertion on loading (r9857)
  • Fix: [NewGRF] Catch occurance of division-by-zero in varaction handling (r9837)

Nice work.

Do you also have a list with added features?

It's a bugfix release so no new features except one (very) small thing that might be useful for server administrators (showing whether a game is protected in the "players" console command).

So will the first official release with real aircraft speeds be 0.6.0 then?

Any known problem with trainincome just after a train is recently bought and makes it's first run? Yesterday my brother played 0.5.2-RC1 and he had several trains making a big loss in their first runs, while runningcosts could never make that happen (runningcosts ~4600 , loss ~34000)

That train lost is most likely caused by improper use of transfers or transferred goods waiting too long at the station which caused the value to drop a lot, but the other trains are already (virtually) paid, so the last train has to 'pay' for that.

Two of my servers crashed on me today with 0.5.2-RC1:

One with this error:

openttd: station_cmd.c:1235: GetStationPlatforms: Assertion `TileBelongsToRailStation(st, tile)' failed.

The other one just said "server exited" without any reason.

I am using brianetta's autopilot, could that have anything to do with it?

I saved the network.tmp on the first error. It's a 1.9 Mb file. Tell me where to send it, or where to post it and i'll supply it :)

I'd say, just post them here.

Sadly enough not, I had it running overnight and it didn't crash :(

Bummer.

Does the errormessage tell you anything at all? e.g. what a user maybe was doing during the crash?

openttd: station_cmd.c:1235: GetStationPlatforms: Assertion `TileBelongsToRailStation(st, tile)' failed.

Perhaps the error only appears when a certain action is performed, and obviously it would be almost impossible to find out what it was, and almost impossible to replicate.

I had another server just "exit" without any warning messages, not sure what that was all about either.

Then you haven't (properly) installed 0.5.2-RC1 for some reason.

Or are using the wrong shortcut, if it is not installed over the previous version.

important value BUG

Hello i have to report an important bug. I started a game with the EURO value. The maximum loan at tha moment was 700.000 euro. Then I tried to change into another value (e.g. Italian Lira). OK. Then the game WON'T LET ME CHANGE BACK into Euro value!!!

Then, another little thing. I tried to change into another value (e.g. English £) and the maximum loan had changed a little (not corresponding exactly with the 700.000 Euro)
