Thanks for the reply. I couldn't get grfcodec to work for some reason. I'll have a look at it again.
On second look, it appears that I have to have TTDX and the patch to use grfcodec. I get an error box that says something about the path cannot contain spaces. I'm using OpenTTD, so I guess that eliminates using grfcodec. How is everyone else editing these?

Everyone else is just putting grfcodec somewhere else.
Not that I'm familiar with that error message; would you please report it properly, and in the correct thread?

Tried moving it everywhere I could. No effect.

Properly means "The full, complete, and exact error message, with no paraphrasing, trimming, shortening, or anything else that could possibly remove information. If in doubt about your ability to copy and paste, post a screenshot."
In the correct thread means "Not here." This thread is for PlaneSet development, discussion, and bug-reporting. "I can't get grfcodec to work" is none of those.
And there is no way you could have put it everywhere possible in the time since you last posted. Even with a 255-character path limit, there are well over 10^300 different possible locations, even on an OS with case-insensitive filenames.

I've split this off for now.
Anyway, sounds like he's trying to use GRF Wizard. That complains of space errors, and requires TTDPatch to be installed.

Does you path to your OpenTTD folder contain any spaces? (E.G: E:\ Program Files\OpenTTD) If so, you should change it to something else I guess, because of the space between Program and Files.

Simply put the path to the file and source in brackets.
Code: Select all
For Example,
grfcodec.exe -d -p 2 "\Games\Transport Tycoon\trg1r.grf" \Editting\Grfs
If you are using Grfwizard you might not want to, it is very outdated.

But anything andrexified is a completely different kettle of fish. Which is why most of us won't use such ... whatever-it-is.
