How many hours have you spent on it so far?

You really don't want to know how much time I spend on it, especially the big cities take a hugh amount op effort
I would like help from people to finish it, because I know that if I am going to do the rest on my own with my current lack of free time that it will take ages. So if you are creative, have some knowledge about city infrastructure, enoug free time and would like to help finish this map, pls mail me @
marijnheitkamp@gmail.com
It's on the largest map size of
open TTD, the northern part is almost finished so I think it's about 40% done.

Wow, sadly I have hardly any time for that kinda job Im afraid buit that is one REALLY awesome piece of work. You must have the most incredible patience and enthusiasm!

I'd hate to see all that logic and beauty vanish when I start playing the scenario and the internal town expansion kicks in.

SAC should see this!

This is awesome! I bet it took you a year to build this

In my opinion, this is art in it's own special way. Well done on creating it. I certainly would not have had the patience to create it.

*points to sig*
I think phpbb needs an image size filter.
That said, that map is simply amazing.

Really great.

I know how long I work on my own scenarios (and they are far away from looking so amazing as yours) so I'm sure you have worked at this at least for several month, kudos!

It's not hard to get one, if you use a functional browser. But I decided I didn't like it (in the one I found, the maximum width was hardcoded), so I use
this instead.

just for this we need a patch which completely disallows the towns from adding/removing *anything* as it would be a heinous crime to do so...

There is such a patch already, look for townsbuildnoroads or something simular.

Those screens are absolutely *STUNNING*
Right there on par with SAC
There is only a small problem I see with your scenario...you cannot really play it. From the screenshots all towns are fully built leaving you no space for railroads, stations, airports, etc. etc. Perhaps it's not meant to be played but just looked at like art or paintings.
Nevertheless..stunning, even more so as there is no way of placing individual buildings and it must've taken an immense amount of time to get everything right...and 2048x2048 on an old computer..whoo, absolutely stunning.
Btw, would you mind if I were to take your 'lake punica national park' screenshot and put it on
http://www.openttd.org/screens.php? That's an absolutely awesome picture (perhaps if you are comfortable with that, you could send me the savegame and I'll try to find an even more ideal position to screenshot).

Yep, but that's imho only half of the way, because it doesn't prevent towns from building houses along already existing roads like for an example along the roads in 'Sumita Park'. But of course it would be really a improvement.
For a 'complete' solution we need imho a tool to mark some user-defined areas of the map as 'special restricted areas'. Towns are not allowed to build anything in these areas (in-game). These areas should be handeled in the same way as for an example light towers tiles or other 'eye-candy' objects you can build in the scenario editor. But with having this we need also a way to make these areas visible somehow (maybe in a special view or something like that), because it would be a pain to get this info only with the 'tile info tool'.
Well this only an idea how this could possibly work. I dunno how much work it will be, but I expect a lot. Maybe this will be easier with the new map array, or even a feature of it

Well, there is actually plenty of space in the big cities, most have green and open areas, it's a peace of cake to make a lot of money withing one of the cities (maybe to easy). the only problem is the random town expansion that you get pretty soon after you transport passengers to and from the city. Surely you can take the lake punica national park" screenshot and put it on the website.

Those images are more than awesum! The canals, and crater, and parks and housing estates and all those islands and everything!...incredable. The trees have been placed with such presision as well!...Seriously, Well done!
