Hi guys,
i just want to ask, whether there's a patch for no fences on Railroads, Monorails, and maglevs, which works on ottd.
I only found an nofence.grf for ttd-patch nad I dont want deactivate the "details" option, because these option works not only on the fences, but also on the trees at the steets (my english is not that good, that i would now the correct word for that).

Doesn't the nofence.grf work in OTTD too?

If i copy the nofence.grf into my data folder, only copy, not activating in the .cfg, and try to start ottd, theres an alert "0x77c183b7 whatever", and the game doesn't start. If i try nofence2.grf, i cant start the game and activate the newgrf, but whithout an effect.

doesn't deactivating the 'full detail' option do the same trick?

If you read his first post again, you will see that the full detail option does not "do the same trick".

I seriously doubt that OpenTTD can produce that message. Can you please copy the EXACT message?

Sorry, i should have been more precise, its an windows message, which appears, when i try to start ottd, but only, when i put "nofence.grf" in the data folder.

In german:
"Die Anweisung in "0x77c183b7" verweist auf Speicher in "0x00000000". Der Vorgang "read" konnte nicht auf dem Speicher durchgeführt werden.

Klicken sie auf "OK" um das Programm zu beenden.
Klicken sie auf "abbrechen", um das Programm zu debuggen."

now, tried to translate in englisch:
"The instruction in "0x77c183b7" refers to memory in "0x00000000". The process "read" could not be executed in the memory.

Click at "OK" to close the programm.
Click at "abort" to debug the program."

try to use this one. This grf is made by me and it works with TTDP and OpenTTD as well.

Just copy this into data folder and add this grf to the newgrf section in configuration file.

using a different grf file is not the real solution. The game should not make a NULL pointer crash when you add files to it, specially because the file shouldn't be enabled at all.
