Hi and welcome,
I'm somewhat confused about your question !
Is this switch on in your ttdpatch.cfg file:
win2k on

To start TTD you must have TTD for Windows
and TTDPatch with 'win2k' switch 'on' ...

You mean you can't go fullscreen?
It's easy; alter the compatibility mode settings for ttdpatchw.exe. Change it to either Windows 95 or Windows 98/Me. And ofcourse setup full screen mode in the configuration utility.
And it needs to be the Windows version of TTD. The DOS version doens't work at all on Win2000/XP

I heard that with newest alpha you don't need to set compatibility mode

Well not really, because most of the "altering" of the game is done in the DOS version...

Cloaken, I have the same problem as yours. When I try starting Transport Tycoon (original, NOT deluxe) on my Win2k, all I get is a DOS window with "Unable to set up SVGA display" written on it. The game won't even start.
Could you please tell me how did you solve your problem? I really love this game, I recently switched to win 2k and can't play it anymore!!
Thanks in advance!

TTO don't work on Win2k/XP .... only way is to use VirtualPC (I think) or better to create 2nd partition with DOS boot
