[rel]ECML and Scotland

Here for you, a map which was initially based on the GNER route, but has sort of ended up as Scotland with the ECML wrapped round it. Also, it's a one hour jobby, so there aren't as many industries and hills as I'd like (especially in Scotland).

For those who want to build a realistic network, you can 'be' GNER, Hull Trains, First CC, First Scotrail, Central, Northern and probably some others. If you want to go it alone, there a fair bit of scope for building and whatnot.

As always, if there's anything you think is wrong (towns too close, too far apart, etc.), just say and I'll try and change it.

No mods are needed.

Here's the map and scenario:

Neat - will have to d/l it as soon as possible. Looks good especially as can build all the GNER network with it. Shame GNER will soon be no more.

Should be good - though looks like you need the Tyne at Newcastle and the Tweed at Berwick to build big bridges over - and possibly the Trent at Newark.

I'll get onto it!

Version 2 is now up, including:

More sea and rivers
More industries (some have moved)
More mass-produced hills in Scotland
and, um, that's it.

Neat, will have to d/l this at the weekend. I grew up in Durham and travel from London to Edinburgh a lot at the minute, so I guess the ECML is the railway line that I know best+probably one of my favourites.

Put up v3, but left up v2.

I noticed, whilst building between Glasgow & Edinburgh, that Dunfermline was in the wrong place, so the towns around that area have been 're-jigged'. I'm not sure if that makes it better, so v2 remains up for you to take your pick

Have tried the v2, it seems good. Didn't pick any ships to squeeze more trains in then realised there were oil rigs! Doh!

Can't get v3 to unpack though - has anyone else tried to download it?

I tried and it works. I'm using the default ZIP extractor in Windows XP. Don't know what's wrong.

Can't remember if I used WinRAR or Winzip to pack 3. What did you use Kev00?

V3 is a Zip file so the Windows xp tool should be fine. I just downloaded and unziped no problem.

Hmmm...I may have used WinRAR to pack to a .zip. I'll try various things and get something up tomorrow.

Ah - I am a little old fashioned and still use winzip!
