[OTTD] Sleepie's Shots
[OTTD] Sleepie's Shots
Well, my first post here, so hello everybody
Enjoying all these nice screenies in the other threads, I thought it's time to post some of my current game, too. Hope you enjoy it
The following screenies are taken from my current sub-arctic game. The map size is 2048x2048. It's a scenario that I made by myself.

I like these shots, they look so realistic, and life-like the way cities and towns expand.
Well apart from 004 but thats just my view.
I think he may be doing it manually so more kudos if he/she does as the results look satisfying.

Thank you all for your kind words
@White Rabbit, yeah it's handmade as MajorDuck supposed and as you can see in the attached picture.
@Louie, the statues and fountaines are a real pain, even if you bulldoze them they reappear shortly again and again. I don't know why, maybe a little bug The good thing is that they only appear in towns under the snowline, because there don't exist snowy versions

For those who are interested here are some more decriptive information on the game.
The map was generated using TGP with a random seed. Some minor changes was made afterwards mostly during placing the towns on the map. The map containes 182 towns all named after german towns. All towns were placed manually, but without respecting their originally geographical location or size. The map contains about 600 industries mostly primary ones.
The game started on 1st January 1920. At the moment I have reached 1968. Currently there are running 505 trains, 595 road vehicles and 108 aircrafts.
For trains I use three different (independent) network (types). One is used for primary industry cargos. Another one for townrelated cargos (food, goods, gold, and passengers and mail for Inter-city express trains). Third type is for local passenger and mail trains that connect towns in a specific area.
Besides the third type (only LR) of network I use LR___LR mainlines and LR sidelines to handle the traffic, which works quite good at the moment.

Normally I reach a point in my games at which I get a bit bored and want do something new. After some weeks or even month I continue the previous game. So it's time to make a break from sub-arctic.
I have made a new map, this time a temperate one. It's also smaller (512x512). Relatively less (and small) towns and industries (more could be funded later in the game).
Here are the first shots from my new game.
It's 1920 and Sleepie Transport Services starts it business. A railroad between Dresden and Potsdam and a bus service between Dresden and Erlangen are the first lines of the new transport company.

Well, Sleepie Transport Services is now 15 years in business - so it's time for an update.
Let's start with Potsdam. It has growing fast and it's now one of the biggest town. So it was necessary to expand the railway station.
A coal mine near Potsdam was also connected to the network. The coal is delivered to Dresden's power plant.
The last pic shows the crossing near Dresden which connects Dresden's power plant and Bieleburg to the network.

Next picture shows Dresden's power plant. Dresden has so rapidly growing that the plant is nearly in the city now
Bieleburg has it's first railway station. It was built in the early 30s. At the moment you can go to Dresden and Potsdam from there.
Bieleburg has also a coalmine in the hills to the north. The fast growing Dresden needs more and more energy so the coal from Bieleburg was really needed at Dresden power plant.
It's quite late, or early now, so I'll continue this later

Brilliant screenshots, this is how OTTD games should look. Not a jangled mess of maglev everywhere...
