hmm, i never got the hang of George's ECS anyway, and i'm greatly looking forward to mr. Blunck's ECS implementation. imagine, DBsetXL, European Scenario & Alpine, NewStations and a whole stack of new industries... i can't imagine me getting my degree then.
edit: wait, this is ECS-related offtopicness, 'innit? hmm, well mind me, this will be the last of me ECS-ing in this thread anyhoo.

Well, as I understand it, Michaels ECS will use the same industry threads as Georges, and also some different ones, but written in such a way that you can mix and match industry chains, so that other people can have their own implementations of ECS, without major conflicts.
Hopefully Michael can shed more light on it, although I have a feeling I've carped it up a bit
