New Water graphics. How to make it compatible with OpenTTD.

Hi. I have been playing on TTDPatch for a while, but now when I can use TTRS3 in OpenTTD i have made choice to leave playing on TTDPatch and move on with OpenTTD.
But I ve got a problem. I used to play with some nice grf's. Some of them are not working with OpenTTD. When I starting the game it shows me message that my grf has got an invalid format or something.
Now... I want to use New Water graphics in OpenTTD. Is there any way to recompile that grf so it will be compatible with OpanTTD? I was thinking about merge this grf file with trg1r.grf and I think it may work as well.
But I dont know how to do this. Can anyone help me?
