Hello everyone, it's Raichase.

Now, I'm well aware some of you don't like me. Thats fine, everyone has a right to like or dislike those who they choose. I've fought with some people in the past, but learned that it's better to ignore them (as I now have learned, it's easier on myself, the person I'm arguing with, and the rest of the community), and that if they reciprocate, it will be all the easier for everyone.

Well.

I don't normally like to see "flame wars" brought out into the open forum, but I believe, if you've got something to say, say it loud enough for everyone to hear. If you're afriad of public reaction, then don't go sending abusive private messages, it's cowardly, and uncalled for.

So, imagine my suprise, when I was sitting on the bus home, checking my e-mail, and saw a new PM.

I opened it, and was surprised to read the following from Gibbloco.
gibboloco wrote:more typical verbal crap from you - I've still got me sheep shears from my stint in NSW - would like to shear a twot like you - now pass this to your 'mod mates' cobber.
As you can understand, I was less than impressed.

As I don't have anything to say to anyone that I wouldn't say in public, I will post a public reply to this abusive PM.

Dear Gibbloco,

I'm sorry you feel that way about my postings, although there are better ways to resolve your problem. I'd suggest contacting my boss, orudge if you want to complain about me, or something I have done.

However, I too have been involved in heated arguments, and known the temptation to say something rude.

So, in my new spirit of ignoring people that want to make my life difficult, I'm just going to move on now. You're the angry one, you have yourself to answer to for that. I'd rather stay smiling, as everyone who knows me IRL knows me for that.

So, I say "no worries mate".

Although...

Sorry champ, thanks for playing anyway.

Kind Regards,

I like you Raichase! Although I do somewhat question you choice to drag this out in public before any private discussion with those involved, it was definitely your choice to make, given that you were the one being insulted.

Thankyou Whitehand.

I'm liked :D.

I only brought it out into public, because I don't have anything to say that must be said in private. If I have something to say, I can say it to everyone, not sneaky little daggers while smiling and being nice in public.

Also, it serves as a good example of why people shouldn't send abusive messages to forum staff, or indeed anyone, because they will be dealt with exactly as if the attack was made in the public forum.

Thankyou both for your replies.

I am quite a fan of the 'name and shame' technique. Not only does it offer the same amount of punishment as it would have when dealt with privately, but it also deters people, who, as a general rule, don't like to be made an example of in the community.

I don't consider there being "sides" here, this is simply an example that abusive private messages will be, as Whitehand put it, "named and shamed".

Hi Raichase

I am writing to support you.
You have exposed this person for what he is, by revealing his PM to you. It ammounts to abuse and harrassment of a Moderator.

Something needs to be done about gibboloco. Some are asking is he suspended already.

This abuse of other members has got to stop. Its become so tiresome and i long for the return of good manners and respect for one and other. Cannot we get rid of this rabble. :(

Long live the Moderizzle :!:
