[REQ] First! (Paddington - Penzance/Cardiff) Routemap style

Hi, since I've gotten into this game Ive really enjoyed playing custom landscapes but, I am diabolical at creating my own.

Would anybody if they have the time be able to produce such a map? I would appreciate it if possible but I also completly understand if no one has the time/will to do one.

Thanks, - PB

I am tempted to do this, but I'm currently I'm at uni using an Apple, so I can't at the moment.

Its a good idea, so I might have a go at Christmas. Unless anyone else wants to have a go first...

Going by the quality of your westcoast mainline map and the fun I've had playing it, I'd be more than happy to wait for a version by you and perhaps in the meantime have a go at any others that might be made. There are so many companies and small services along that route aswell (Virgin, Wessex, SWT, Wales and West as well as First! :P)

Thanks for the quick response and like I said, if you could give it a go arounf x-mas I'm more than willing to wait :)

Psyvhotic Baboon, you could try and make the scenario. The route-map style ones really aren't that hard once you get the major towns in the right places. I've taken the liberty of sketching out a possible layout which you, or anyone else who fancies a go, could use as a blueprint. Its not perfect, but I think its a plan that anyone could recreate on Lomo without too much trouble.

Psyvhotic Baboon, it might not be what you had in mind, but with a route as long as London-Penzance, its easy to turn it into one long boring map. With this outline I've tried to keep it so that the major junctions (Reading, Didcot, Bristol especially) still pose a challenge, and are likely to have traffic coming from many different directions, like in real-life.

See what you think, and if you feel like it, have a go at making it - what have you got to lose?

Looks like a good blue print to me :) It's too far to have penzance on it so I may do this and the supplemental Plymouth - Penzance Routemap including the branch lines on that route :) (recreating regions is really hard for me. I'll give it a shot :)

Keep in mind that trains to South Wales don't actually go through Bath unless there's a problem on the line. Oh, and don't forget Newport, either.

Thanks, that map should be quite helpful.
Like I said above; unless anyone else has a go at this first, I'll try to do this (and another scenario I've got planned) over the Christmas holiday. No promises though, as I might have a lot of stuff to do and people to see.

I could try it is just renaming all the towns and stuff, and not to mention time. Could take a while because i am at college. But I should be able to have a go. :D But I may need some help.

Jus to say I am part way through, should upload my temporary scenario soon. Mostly completed, and a rough representation of the area.

I do like this approach to scenario building, though of course you have to "seed" something (like a coal mine to power station) which will give you enough revenue to build the route in a prototypical manner once you start it.

Was thinking, you could probably apply this approach to building a route in Trainz, particularly if built with industry flows in mind rather than a long linear route. Would need a bit more disguising on the boundaries but that's what 2D treelines and housing flats ae for!

Sory for delay should be here as soon as possible. Wrong type of leaves on the track so to say.
