How to use new graphic set in openn ttd

Hello, i need help. I cant get new graphic set to function in open ttd, i have put the new sets in the data folder (in open ttd) edited the openttd.cfg file in the opent ttd folder. But in the gameplay window is there none possibilty to do changes (see picture). !! I'm an old man (46)who likes this game but i need some help. Take contact

That pretty little red square does nothing[0] and means nothing. Ignore it.

That said, none of those GRFs work in 0.4.8; use the latest nightly or MiniIN if you want your newgrfs to work.

[0] Nothing except confuse newbies to no end, that is.

dbsetxlw and usset both 'work' in 0.4.8, although not as well as in the nightlies. Although probably not in the desert climate either.

actually, loading the usset and dbsetxl simultaniously gives some problems as well. i guess it's usually one graphic set at a time.
