Hi

I've been playing TT or TTD since i can remember, and even with new games and better graffics, its only been good old transport tycoon deluxe.

But after a few years of off time, i found Locomotion. But for me it lacked a lot of things. So i startet seraching the web for updating TTD, and found ths site. I have been reading a lot the last 3-4 hours here and found a lot of good material.

I've downloaded a shipupdate and upgraded the version to 2.0. But since I allways have been a trainman, i've would love to have som real trains too

So heres my questions.

Can U be so kind tell me if there is a train update that i can use from Germany, France, Denmark og Norway?

My second Question. I asume that you create you're own train be yourself, so how do you do it?

most of the answers can be found in the graphics forum for ttdpatch. Try purnos grfx tutorials.

Welcome to the forums. Hope you will stick around for some time.

I assume that you have seen our screenshot topic as well already. (see couple of topics above).
There are A LOT of trainsets existing for all sorts of likes.
Currently finished or well playable:

DBSetXL, which you can find here. This will give you German trains
UKRS, which can be found here. This is a replacement set giving you TTDstyle trains from the UK.
There are several other sets around, like the US-Set, JapanSet, Czech, Norwegian, Tropicrenewal, etc... (sorry if I missed one)
Best is to check the Grf-Crawler.

Further, in the Graphics section, there are a good few more sets in development which could use a helping hand. So feel free to check them out.

Using TTDPatch, yes.

But i've downloaded a lot off updates now, but dose'nt seem to work.. I extracted the to the right place, but nothing happens....

I have downloaded the 2.0 patch and some train patches and a norwegian language pack. But when i start a game (in 1975) nothing but the usuall is there..
I have allsow opened the TTDX Configurator and change some in it...

I hope this is enough help..

Edit: I have downloaded OpenTTD. Should i install that too?

Are you sure it was installed properly?
Trainpatches, do you mean .grf files?

OTTD is another game (if you say so), you don't need it, but feel free to try it if you want to.

Have you created a newgrf.cfg file, listing which new graphics the game is to use? And I would also recommend that you get the beta patch from under the "source code" section of the TTDpatch site.
Also, have you remembered to start the game by clicking ttdpatch.exe, not gamegfx?

OTTD is seperate from TTDpatch, so you can have both installed, but you can't play both at the same time.

I have a ttdpatchw, but no ttdpatch..

I created a newgrf.cfg and followed the manuall and wrote: "newgrf/nsbsetd.grf" at the topp of the line. I opened the game in ttdpatchw. Dont work.

Edit: I read that when the TTDpatch is installed you should have a newgrf/ folder. I dont have that.. What could i have done wrong?

Hm.. I think i found the reason.

The version i had was no good. So i followed this manuall: http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php?t=19693

But when i hit setup, it says that i dont have enough disk place. But i do(4,01GB) And then it says TTconfig i used be another program/person.(which it is'nt)

Anyone feel like helpng me?

It should be newgrfw.cfg (sorry, my mistake), and you should manually create a newgrf folder in your ttd folder, and put all your graphics in there. Also, make sure you get the correct version of the grf files, it seems you are using a windows version of ttdpatch, but the grf file you mention seems to be a dos version.

Okei, seems like everything is coming along..

But for some reason after installing TTD No-Registry batfile installer by SpComb Version 0.9.1, which is great. Then i cant get monorail og maglev.

Anybody have a clue why that might be?

well you have to wait until XXXX year before you can get monorail/maglev TTD deafault is ~2010

Some of the new train sets de activate monorail and maglev to add more different standard locomotives, that might be it.

Trying a testgame over the next weak or 2 just to see what is missing, so i'll see how it goes

I seen that A LOT of managed to build severel of the same indutries right next to eachother. When I try that, it tells me that im not allowed. The same goes for building stations right next to eachother.

Any way to solve this?

Personally I'm using TTDX configurator and in the "other settings" you can find something in the line of "build more...". I use swedish language so obviously it says "Bygg mer...", and if you highlight that switch you'll get some options to chose like "allow for multiple industries..." and "allow for industries to be built next to each other...".

I know AndersI has another tool that some people like better, but I haven't tested that one yet so I can't tell you how it works!
