[Work Suspended] Australian Set

Post by popey »

Over the last few months I've learnt VC and MSTS2Lomo and finally have completed my first set. At present it contains only models from James Brook's website, so it's mostly Victorian stuff.

I've just got James' permission to release so have a look at the second screenie and tell me what you think... (I know the orange isn't perfect, I might fix it up later, also the 'CP' needs a complete repaint but I'll leave it for now...

One thing: all open/container wagons are set up as Multi-state wagons, it has taken me ages to do one vehicle and many are have come out wrong (see first screenie)

Future: I've already done further repaints of these models which require permission then I'll do more models from Steam4me hopefully :D

Work Currently Suspended due to possible Copyright Issues with MSTS Models, See Here

The Na Locos and carraiges below are clear, they were invented before 1955 :)

WOW! Nice work!! Im loving the GM and S Class there!!

Are you going to have a go at doing the modern V/Line, Freight Australia grain wagons at all? Those would be a real treat!

Thanks for the work on them! I look forward to seeing them!

Finally, we see a LoMo set to partner the TTD one. Looks like it's showing promise too. Keep working!

At the moment there won't be any PN or ARG, jump onto steam4me and see whats there. Hopefully as time goes by I'll try to trawl through most of this, permission pending. What been shown will be Version 1. I forgot to mention it includes a town names file. Readmes done, installer to be created after this post.

Hey, this set's going to be awesome! Have you checked out http://www.broadgaugetrains.railsa.com/, they have some really good models there. Dunno whether you can get permission, but might be a good place to check.

I've already done the Bluebirds (they're probably the best actually) to be released later on.

Release is currently delayed, details later.

good man mate;

It's been ages and I lost all my conversions from, err, I think, from railroads.com.au (something like that).
I was converting all MSTS loco's to LOMO, but then the internet got dissconnected and so my efferts were not being seen any-more, so I stopped, but then I lost them when my HDD stuffed itself.

Two thumbs way up :D

Chris Jennings has some Sydney models and can be found on train-sim at the moment. Someone on the forum released a new msts 2 loco convertor. ( i think.) search for vc threads and see if you can find who it was. it may help solve some graphic problems.

Version 1 released, see top post.

A very big thank-you to Andel for hosting on AMI. A piece of chocolate cake is on the way! :D

More models have been converted, basically all Victorian stuff has been done, will start hunting down permission shortly.

I've just received permission for use of more models so here they are.

This small release includes rollingstock from the Puffing Billy Railway

Its not a lot but I hope this keeps the pack moving forward.

I've also included a bugfix for the SAR 'M' Boxvan, you can tell I added it into the pack just before release

Permissions are slowly being sought but hopefully soon should consist of up to 90 items with a bit of more modern equipment.

Hope you enjoy and tell us what you think.

Great work!

Great pack mate! Im getting good use out of it, especially with my favorite Aussie loco, the S Class!

Just a question, is there a way in which I can change the horn? The B's and T's had very similar horns. I have recordings of them in wav format. Is there a way I can incorporate this into the game? Or at least change them to the American horn? The British one makes me shudder! LOL!

As for the bloke after a Tangara, I gave it a go but couldnt get it to work. I would LOVE to see a Tangara made for the game. Would get my full support!

Glad you liked it. I not quite sure how to change the horns, but please if you do send them to me, I normally have the music on and its a laptop, so sounds are no big concern for me. Seriously, I have all the sounds of the original models, I would especially like to add them to the set.

The Tangara has been built but AFAIK Michael Thompson has been unable to be contacted. Its actually one of the nicest models for Lomo I've got.

I've been building some newer models but unforetunately won't attempt for permission at present, the authors are very busy atm. Also, a user on here contacted me to do some "contract" work so expect to see some WA stuff in the near future.
