N00b qeustion comming ahead:

How can i run TT, and/or TTD on Win XP ?
I tryed the TTD patch but it didnt work.

If i run tycoon.exe it opens, no music, full screen and i can play TT/TTD for 5 seconds, then the screen returns to winxp and TT/TTD automatelicy closes.

If i run the TTD patch ( the latest ofcource ) it opens and give's an error message. ( coudnt found GameGFX.exe or something ), i tryed the other patches aswell, some asked for a com port or something, othersd closed itself after 0,1 second.

There are a number of topics about this, but I will gladly help

I hope you have downloaded the windows version of TTD and the windows patch ?

You must install TTD, run ttdconfig, this program is in your game directory
it has a green fish icon, choose sound and fullscreen, then exit
Now run ttdpatchw.exe for the first time with the option -W ttdpatch.cfg
This will write a ttdpatch.cfg file, you can open this with notepad
Look for these switches:
win2k on
generalfixes on

Now try again


The dos version doesn't work on XP and tycoon.exe surely won't work !!!

Also if you want it to run in fullscreen, create a shortcut of ttdpatchw.exe and place it on the desktop. Riight-Click and go to the preferences. Under the "shortcut" tab, there will be a "run:" option, select maximised. And under the "options" tab, there will be "display options" box, select the full screen option. Just run from that shortcut and you'l have ttd in fullscreen.

TT won't work in xp, no patch oh well we've got ttd

I found out that my version of TTD was from DOS :/.

So i downloaded the illigal version of windows of TTD, And it works perfectly.

But there's 1 thing i'd like 2 now

At TT i had a great company save game, i accepted that i cant play TT on XP, but is there any posable way to load that saved game of TT with TTD ?

You can't play a game from the original TT in TTD.

But I figured you had a dos version, so now you can play with all new features, so have fun
