Strange -3 mill profit by valuables truck?

Hi,

How come my idiot driver in road veh. 32 manages to spend over 3 mill kr in less than one year when the vehichle is actually supposed to spend max 227.557 kr in one year?

The Kr is NOK (Norwegian) and 1 USD = about 6 NOK.

If you look at my illustration.jpg, this is probably a normal setup, giving a lot of transfer income. The cars from bank 1 to lorry/train station 1 are all ok and gives some income from their transfer, but those from lorry/train station 2 to bank 2 are all incredibly non-profitable. And they all get about the same income as the other cars. I don't understand, why are they then costing me so much?

In the print screen, I tried adding a second lorry between lorry/train station 2 and bank 2, but it didn't help :(

I added the savegame if someone would like to check it out. Yes I know, a lot of my game sucks. Don't complain. I'm working on it! :P

I hope anyone here knows what the problem is and can help!

thats a bug, i thought they fixed that already... what version are you running?

i take it you are using transfer orders? well, i heard that if it takes a long time to do this, you can actually get negative money from delivering the cargo at the end, the only problem there is that the last trip is the only 1 that counts...

Thanks for the quick reply!

I run version 0.4.7.

When the last trucks arrive at the last bank, they do get a positive income and the negative profit decreases (slightly) so I suppose it doesn't take too long.

I never heard of any specific "transfer orders" but I use the "full load" and "unload" orders to make them unload and pick up the merchandice where I want them to, so I do make transfers and get some transfer income (yellow text). Check my savegame :)

Also, it sounds strange (though it would be logical) that only the last trip counts? The other trucks do get a noticeable income and the train get over 1 mill for every trip it makes...

yer, transfer income isn't real money, so, the last part of the trip is the only REAL money that you actually get... which is kinda crap, but its the only thing they can do untill they expand the cargo array so it can remember where it came from.

this massive negative profit IS a bug, and i am pretty sure that someone fixed it, but it could have been after 0.4.7...

Damn, I was so happy when I saw how much the train made in transfers!
Anyway, I suppose we then can only hope that we soon will get another oTTD version where they both manage to expand the cargo array as you said, AND fix the bug (again?) since 0.4.7 is the latest version (for now).

its the latest official stable release, its by far not the latest version...

Any versions later than 0.4.7 (at the time of posting) are beta test releases. They're not guaranteed to be stable. They're not even guaranteed to work.
