Hi,

I bought Transport Tycoon deluxe, last week. Tried to load it today, downloaded the patch, ran the patch and then got this error message:

C:\MPS\TTDLX\ttdpatch.exe
The system cannot open COM3 port requested by the application. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application.

Please help, I will be forever grateful!!!

You've got the DOS version of the game which will not work on XP.
Follow this guide, including downloading the win version, and all should be well.

You have the DOS version of TTD and you try to use it on an Windows NT based System (Win2000, WinXP, Win2003).

So you need need the Windows Version of TTD (the one from the Hasbro package).
