Hi, I think that could be a great idea a mod to stop the go back when a train stop a few time in a semaphore or the vehicles stop in a crossroad. This is possible to stop it?

Has anyone even tryed to see what's in the exe??? How can we know what's exactly in there if no one has even looked at it.

Also I would think most stuff would be in the Locomotion/Data folder.

well isn't even looking in there illegal? 'cause surely when you look at it, and actually get into it you'll want to change a few things...

Uhm, I think not is illegal a free distribution of a modified exes... How many people downloaded .exe cracks to run games and no closed to hail for this...

The modify of a .exe is legal if no "distribute", for a personal use only...

I think some of you here are being way too over pre-caucious and overexagerating the legality of editing the exe. I'm sure many have downloaded no-cd patches that physically alter the exe directly so that one doesn't require the cd, there is even..............a patched no-cd for Locomotion, oh my gosh!!!! 8o 8o

We have to call up Atari and have them fined! There have been literally thousands upon thousands of no-cds for all kinds of games and not once have I seen anything about the producer wanting to sue/fine the maker of the edited exe.

Using an altered EXE is not illegal if you don't use it for illegal uses like downloading games or programs, but what we want to do is alter it to just change the gameplay. I see absolutely nothing wrong with that, other people have altered some of Atari's other games and you haven't heard nothing from Atari about it. And especially the fact, I'm pretty sure everyone here paid for their copy of Locomotion. If you didn't and you used a patched EXE, then there's a problem but there is nothing wrong with patching your game that you bought not stole. If everyone here was stealing copies, then duck for cover and be on the defensive about editing the exe.

EXE Cracks - Illegal or legal?

exe no cd patches are a tricky subject, they are technicaly illegal, yet at the same time you are legaly allowed to make a personal backup of digital media you have purchased, thus being the no cd crack is the work around to allow that back up. similar to dvd copying software out there, it is illegal unless it is for "personal back up use and you own the original".

at least that is how it was explained to me....

Is the same I sayed. Here exagerate a lot the legality or not of the modification of Locomotion .EXE file.

If SOMEONE modify the .EXE file, no go to prison or something... A lot of games of Atari and other companies has been modified ALL FILES. The entire game. But, those modifications has been distributed FREE, no payed for those... Is the diference between legal and illegal... And here, no speak of modify the .EXE for malign intentions... Is for enhance the gameplay of Locomotion an "upgrade" it...

you do know that if you are building a one way train line, you can just put a one way signal right behind the train so if it does reverse. it cant go anywhere.

And If you build a drive-thru station with more than 2 tracks? You can't build a one way signal at the platform entrances.
