Station building

Hey! First: I am new to this forum and this is my first post so: HI!!!

I have recently bought Transport Giant. Looks good, however I would like to build a railway line to make some money. So I build a station, ley down rails and head for the next town where I want the tracks to end. Now when I get to this town (any town) I am unable to confirm the construction of the train station. I is clear of any buildings, water or other obstacles. I can lay down the station plan, but cannot confirm to actually build it. Money is not a problem.

Anybody got any suggestions?
Thanks

Do you have any other unconnected stations at the map?

you can only build one line at a time.

(Maybe I'm Wrong)

No, I only have the first station at the beginning of the line.
Could it be that I have to construct the station over existing railways? (cannot test right now - at work :D )

the most annoying feature of TG is that you have to have EVERY station connected with track to another one, in one BIG network. That means you have to build the track then the station. If you want my opinion, Dump It! :P

hmm, yes I think I will ;).
Pity, the game looks really nice, but after playing it I get a bad "feel"

Also, I'm reading through the OpenTTD forums here and I'm seriously considering downloading that one...I'm relatively new to ttd and I really like what everybody is doing here. Plus, I'm realizing now that I really can't do ANYTHING with the normal TTD. I'm still using 1 line for 1 train. (I R n00b).
Tonight I will start experimenting with signals and stuff...

Anywayz...thanks fer yer answer m8

Sorry for the late reply.
I have fiddled with it a few times...It works now and I have found a lot of good things in the game, but even more drawbacks...
- It bugs me that you have to build the railway lines first.
- The way a train takes a corner is just not realistic (it seems to drift, and the wheels don't touch te rails)
- If you tell a train (of carriage for that matter) what to carry, there are just too many things to do (select train, add train, select what to carry, add selection to train, tell it where to go)....I'm sure if oyu use it a lot, you could get used to it, but it doesn't work for me....
I think I'll take Weirdy's advice and dump it :)

too bad though...could have been a great game
