Maglev Chimaera Coach + Released! NEW Maglev Track! V0.8

I played OTTD until just now, and I tought that the Lev 4 - Chimaera maglev looks super ugly with normal passenger coaches in it.

So I remade those wagons to fit with the engine it self.

Sprite sizes are not really correct but I used a bit copy/paste work from the engines and they don't have the 'correct' sizes either. (I wonder if there is something like a correct 'sprite size'.) I forgot witch colour in the palette are company colour specification so I coloured it Gold/Yellow from the original engine I was using. (yes another fine product of copy/paste & co. )
Here it is, I hope you like it! :P

EDIT: Maglev Track release V0.8.

I would like to thank Underbuilder for making the seperate .grf file!

Here is the my latest product packed in a new .grf file by Underbuilder, it affects temperate and artic, tropical climate will be acting weird with sand tiles AFAIK. When you download you get the optimized maglev rail, and better cantilever bridges (as the cantilever bridge was just blain ugly) I can't remember where I got that one, if someone knows who made them please tell me, then I can give proper credits :!:

Thanks in advance

EDIT supplemental: New version of the maglev track with some few graphical glitches for artic fixed by Underbuilder. :)
Download this one and replace it with the previous to install.

Hm, it does fit the engine slightly more than this: http://grfcrawler.tt-forums.net/details ... ails&id=72

The blue color existing of 8 colors. (There's also a blue color with more than 8 colors, which isn't company colors). More info is at http://www.ttdpatch.net I believe.

One little question: What does the first M in MMU stand for?

Manned. :P

Maglev Multiple Unit??

All maglevs are multiple units. There's no such thing as passive rolling stock on a maglev system.

But the first M stands for Maglev anyway. :P
I hope someone can code this one someday. :D

I started to make a grf for it, before you had posted this :(
I have created a grf, so here it is... The carriages doens`t fits too good to the engines...

hmmm... you are right, maybe I can adjust it a little, but it looks way better than the original! :P

It looks very nice, I installed the grf right away :), but it only works when you buy new trains and doesn't replace the carriages of excisting trains :(.

I know it is offtopic but can someone make a replacement for the maglev tracks (and the normal tracks also) if it is not too much trouble.

what is wrong with it? I think that this is the japanese style maglev track, you mean that someone (me? :) ) should draw it the transrapid style maglev track? :D

Well the problem with it is that you can't always see where you already have laid track and where not. This doesn't bother me to much because I mostly use cloverleaf junctions but with other style junctions it can get a bit irritating sometimes.

Ow! I get it, when you make junctions that you can't see in witch way you already placed tracks.

That can't be done by drawing, that is a matter of coding, as you build a junction with rails it doesn't place Image this sprite right away.
And with maglev it does.
But as I decoded the trg1r.grf file it doesn't contain other railtrack sprites in comparison with maglev. Or I could be greatly mistaken here by overlooking something. Correct me if I'm wrong. :D

Maglev works exactly the same as the other two rail-types; decode trg1r and look at sprites 1005-1036 (railroad) and 1087-1118 (monorail), and compare them to sprites 1169-1200 (maglev).

Now look at the first six sprites in each of those sets. Now do you understand why maglev junction tiles are such a pain?
