I still like number 2. I like the dark blue sea in it. I just love it. The competiton is between 2 and 4 though.

It would be nice to see a train on the rail, and a truck on the road, a plane on the skies, and a ship in the sea in number 4 and it would be perfect in my opinion.

I like the first one because it lacks detail (when comparing it with the other optiosn) which is better for a logo, imo.

I'm just happy you didn't nominate the dollar sign logo.
I like the 3rd one. The second looks really artificial, with the shininess and the lightning. Except...the 3rd one has a messed up South American coast (it's light blue). The British coast is also colour differently. The 3rd and 4th one are essentially the same, and I don't mind the differences, so I'll vote for the 4th.

I like #2 best, otherwise it would be #4, but i don't like the bright circle around the earth in #1/#3/#4.

I realy like #4 because it has the most realistic look to it due to the atmospheric perspective (aka fog

).

I wonder why there are only roads and railroad tracks in the picture. The game is about ships and aircraft too...

Yes, and you see also water for the ships and air for the planes on the globe. SNCR

So we'll put on Ship tracks and Airplane Roads?

Ok new image guys.
this one was inspired by
http://www.openttd.com
personally i think it has a lot more character, it is not going to fall into the trap of being photorealistic. and it provides OTTD with a clear brand colour (like the website already did)

I like #7 best, but they are just ugly compared to the ones in your first post in this thread...

The yellow ones are garish! Cool idea, though. I think the opaque arrows are better (they're cleaner, and would even show up in monochrome). The choice of yellow, though... perhaps a compromise between the yellow and the beige we see on
http://www.openttd.com?
The poll. I still like the only one without the radial gradient. It just looks classier (and glassier).

I like the yellow ones

They're even better than the realistic ones imho.
It would be nice if you have #5 and use translucent roads and railways like in #6 and $7

Good point.
For a splash-screen, I vote 2 or 4, but at logo size (128x128 max?) something simplified may be in order.
Of the grey&gold ones, I like 5 best. Something is wrong, IMO, if you can see through roads.

I really like gray&beige options. OTTD website can be a great inspiration but this forum quotes and links (TT style) have similiar colours, too.
Also, I agree with GoneWacko: Logo must be simple.

these logos will hold their own down to 32 pixels.
they are infact simple already, the only thing not simple is the earth texture. but the earth being one of the most recognisable icons by humans can be recognised at very low details, meaning as it shrinks in size the meaning is not lost.
i could of course use a 2 colour vector based image of the earth for even more simplicity, but i don't know if the effect would be any better. it would certainly not be better at high resolutions, it may be better at low resolutions.
they all currently perform fairly equally at low resolutions (the colours that is).
