Jonty's Graphics [Now Drawing and Coding! Feed me Sprites!]

Seeing loads of other people having a try at drawing trains I thought I might give it a go.
I've read Purno's drawing tutorials and used pictures I found on the internet to recreate the passenger car from a Virgin 'Voyager' class 220. I know this is already in the BR set but it looked like a fairly easy train to start with, and they are pretty much the only train you see on the Midland Mainline (Where I live)
Comments welcome!
Oh, and just one question:
Is the sprite drawn right next to the previous sprite (like Style 1) or a few pixels away (like Style 2)? I just wondered...
EDIT: fixed broken picture

Thank you!

Yes, but I just drew the cars that go in between the curved driving cars. I don't think I'm good enough to draw sloped sprites yet.

No, is it in the BR set thread? I haven't had time to go through all the pages yet (the search doesn't go into enough detail)

Very impressive!
I would very much like to see this in the game, although the roof of the / & \ views may need a very slight bit more shading IMHO.
Thats about it. Very good other than that!

According to the BR set tracking table, the Virgin Voyager (as drawn by jamesvassie? I think so...

) is already in the old release. You could try that, or I may try and do the front/back driving carriages. Wish me luck!

I didn't really know whether they looked smooth enough or not, but now someone's said, I'll try and make it better.
Always a perfectionist, me!

I recommend to use style 1 anyway.
You must paint roof sides in different colours (for example, in | wiews left and right side of roof in your drawing are same colour; left side must be darker than right).
Anyway, good start!

I've just had a go at putting more shading on the roof and the sides in the / , \ and | views:

Yeah, much better! Maybe try to use more colours for roof shading?

Looks good, but you will need 8 views of the coaches, as they are not symettrical. You can only draw 4 views of symmetrical trains

.

Oh yeah, the door would be at the wrong end when it's going the other way. I didn't think about that.

Not necessarily - those sprites do work as a 4-view carriage, if the doors on each side are at opposite ends.
On the other hand, reference pics would suggest that the Voyager carriages have four doors, one on each side at each end.

Very nice, Jonty, very, very nice. Is this really you're first piece of pixel art? Bloody heck, it's good.
Well, Maley is a f*** tosser, I'd wish he never came here, but he's started a wave of a new artists that show some real talent, Killer for one, and now you, Jonty.
Maybe that's his ONE redeeming feature.

Some users are getting on my nerves, because of direct or indirect results of maley123 . It's not a good idea to get on nerves of moderators.
Stay on topic, that rule applies to the regulars aswell, simple ignore maley!

Or Moderizzles for that matter.
Maley - I'm fine with you being here and working to improve yourself. But, you cannot critique others graphics the way you have been doing (especially not drawing your own version to be "better") until you are a qualified artist yourself. I draw, but I don't critique people, becuse I'm only learning myself...

James may I post your tilting one you made for Patchman to test tilting trains.
