Acela HHP-8

Hi, I've been playing a game with the US train set and I've come upon a problem: In 2018, my Acela HHP-8 becomes unavailable, but the "persistent engines" switch is on. And then I realized that the "persistent" engines switch had not been working at all (I had two E8's in a depot, yet the E8 was unavailable).

I tried to use "Cht: AllVehicles" to get the HHP-8 back - I got every train BUT the HHP-8. Does anyone have any idea what the problem is?

EDIT: Sorry, wrong forum.

You can post questions about the US set in the US set release thread, which is in this forum.

The persistent-engines switch has been broken for a long time for reasons unknown. It's a Patch issue.

I'm not sure why the HHP would behave differently from the others.

You can try using Patchman's earlyret.grf for this problem. I've no idea if it will fix the HHP in this particular case, but it saves a lot of hassle in general mucking about with "allvehicles" cheats with graphics sets that use the early retirement feature (which borks persistent engines). The grf basically disables the early retirement feature so persistent engines works as it should. Stick it in your newgrf folder and add "newgrf/earlyret.grf" as the last entry to your newgrfw.cfg file.

Thanks, I had to downgrade to a67, but it solved the problem.
