Game won't start!

I had sound problems a while ago, managed to sort it, then my computer decided to stop working so I got it fixed and had to reinstall FC4. I downloaded the same OpenTTD (0.4.0.1) but now it doesn't work. I've tried compiling it but the same thing happens.

Code: Select all

[liam@localhost openttd-0.4.0.1]$ ./openttd

[liam@localhost openttd-0.4.0.1]$
It just freezes. I've left it for 5 minutes and it just doesn't do anything... Here are my files, just in case I'm missing anything:

Code: Select all

[liam@localhost openttd-0.4.0.1]$ ls
changelog.txt data lang readme.txt scenario
COPYING known-bugs.txt openttd save strgen

[liam@localhost data]$ ls
autorail.grf openttd.grf signalsw.grf trghr.grf trkfoundw.grf
canalsw.grf opntitle.dat trg1r.grf trgir.grf
dosdummy.grf sample.cat trgcr.grf trgtr.gr

[liam@localhost lang]$ ls
american.lng english.txt italian.lng romanian.lng
brazilian_portuguese.lng finnish.lng latvian.lng slovak.lng
catalan.lng french.lng lithuanian.lng spanish.lng
czech.lng galician.lng norwegian.lng swedish.lng
danish.lng german.lng origveh.lng
dutch.lng hungarian.lng polish.lng
english.lng icelandic.lng portuguese.lng

[liam@localhost save]$ ls
autosave

[liam@localhost autosave]$ ls

[liam@localhost scenario]$ ls
Linkgame Islands 2004.scn Mountain Pass.scn Volcano City.scn
There are no hidden files.

I've checked bugs and there are no "known bugs", I've looked through the readme, &c. &c. Does anyone know how to fix this? I want a game

EDIT: BBCode tags are rebelling

Can you fork the output of running with the line paremeters -d 9 to a file, and then upload it?

Also do other SDL apps work?

Alright, there you go.

And, I have no idea...

Well seeing as the last line is "dbg: Loading drivers..." I guess it is a problem there. Try running with -m null -s null, and if that doesn't work SDL is probably broken, so try some other SDL apps to see if they work.

That works :) Thanks.

Great work luca!

Weird though cause OTTD should crash (0.4.0.1) with an error message if it can't find any soundcards/drivers.
