New Town Replacement

Just for the "fun" of learning grf and NFO, I took the liberty to make this little grf set, based on Zimmlock's Total Town Replacement Set. SInce ttrs2.grf does not work (yet) with OpenTTD, I think it would be amusing.

There is absolutely nothing fancy regarding the NFO coding, i'm just learning.
But the graphics are pleasant to see. Not everything is there, but it will, given time

EDIT I would like to thank dmc_mac, for giving me his authorization, permission and help in generating and using his shopping center. Good work!

Version 1.1
-New buildings from Zimmlock's set
-In compliance with Zimmlock's wishes, I've corrected some modifications done
-Better coding
version 1.3
-Add Multicolor back form original building 05 B2
version 1.4
-Add dmh_mac shopping center, from Blender topic

In the future
-Learning how to make multicolor buildings (Cannot do that. Ok, I'll try a patch... )
-Add more buildings, maybe my owns
-Add Waypoints

Belugas do you have a permision to use zimmlocks graphics???

The official line is "public domain", but I would say that it's polite to at least inform Zimmlock (and Csaba, if his code is used), if not actually ask permission.

This set is in the public domain, meaning that you can copy and use it freely, and can use parts of the graphics in your own work. (Please don't forget to give credits, though.)
I figured I could use the graphics as is. In the NFO, I gave credit to Zimmlock. He's a great artist, his work is impressive. That is why I wanted Openttd to take advantage of it, until the devs make it so that this work is obsolete.
You're right, I should have told ZImmlock about it. I will do it right now.
No, I did not use any of Csaba's coding, I wrote it all by myself.
Sorry if I shocked anyone with this "brutal" behaviour of mine. ;)

Ant many thanks for all of you who did appreciate this initiative :)

I think you are mentionning the TGV.
It is a set I have found somewhere. I like the look of it.
Only problem : it claims it can travel at 500 km/h in the buyibg window. but in fact, i've never seen it doing more then 3xx km/h.
Here's the grf

If you offer a new location for downloading a grf, also include the credits. For example, this TGV was drawn by me. TBH, I don't know who coded it. Please search who coded it and include all credits in your post.

It gets to 516 km/h with realistic acceleration off. The real life speed test where the TGV got to that speed was actually a shortened train, but you can't get the full power with less than 10 carriages in this grf...

I tried to, I swear. But the perspective of looking at zillions of serach results is quite reluctant...
When I said "I have found somewhere", that somewhere, in my head at least, means "I have found it a long time ago, on a page I cannot recall the address"...

Well well well... It looks like I have a big lack of "openttd-etiquet".. I should be a lot more carefull when posting and using things around..
Sorry if I offended you, I only wished to spread a grf I do like.
Thanks anyway for pointing out my errors of judgment...

My realistic acceleration is always on, that is why...
I noticed that the less carriage that train has, the more speed it offers.
The speediest, of course, is when there is only an engine...

Thanks. It is well noted. Although I'm sure I've never seen that site...

I posted (on first message of this topic), a new version of NewTown.grf.
You can find list of modifications too.
Enjoy, as much as I do! :D

Thanks, I appreciate your intervention. Looking forward to 2006!

In the mean time, I've released a new version, with a shiopping center, from dmh_mac, WITH HIS PERMISSION AND APPROVAL, if anyone cares... ;)
Look at the first post and enjoy!
