In (o)TTD/TT: Yes you can buy them but they will pop-up again.
In Locomotion: No, you cant buy them, but you can disable them in the scenario editor.

In a lot of ways TTD was more fun than Loco. It used to be that you could buy parcels of land, and so block the AI opponents from constructing in a place where you might have plans for. And you had the options to pay for road repairs in a city. This would mess up an opponent that was using buses/trucks. You could even bribe the local authority to funnel all or most of the traffic into your stations.

I dont remember stock being part of TT. I remember reading up on buying out another company when I had TT and couldnt understand why it wasnt working for me.

I don't recall if TT had the option of buying out the other companies, But TTD certainly did.

No, TT Original didn't have the option to buy stock, but TTD did, and I miss that in locomotion. Maybe some patch out there could fix it someday?

The problem is that in Locomotion, the AI is still prety crappy, building railways that look more like RCT than TT. Really wish I could buy them out just to scrap the lines and keep the equipment.

Modeler, You are so right. I never really thought of it that way although I have RCT original and 2 with all the add-ons. The AI railways do resemble a badly designed roller coaster. I hope that Mr. Sawyer will give us an add-on for LOCO (or Locomotion 2) to address some of these issues.

I like the AI in my games.

- The various sabotage options from TT and TTD were one of the reasons that led my to buying Locomotion last year. The sabotage options are still there just harder and often involve out competing the AI. I just love my wagons over its roads

- AI can provide interesting scenario design options. Like making your scenario dependent on an AI hauling a material that you need but cant haul yourself. Can also provide variation and challenge if you set the objectives correctly.

Whilst not a mod user myself one of the best mod ive seen to keep the AI in the game but reduce those roller coaster brick monsters is this one.

Mod by Akalamanaia. It limits the height of brick bridges. AI cant build them high now :D

Other than that is there any way of sabotage, That AI is hell keeps getting in the way, roads are ok you build one piece of track and put a truck on it  . But what about railways?

If the AI is hauling passengers or goods.mail. food..then bulldoze buildings around his station so that it no longer demands the cargo the AI is carrying.

Flood farmland and forests so they wont produce cargos for the AI

Out compete the AI. The top 4 stations (rating) will share all the carg. Make sure your 4 stations are higher rated than the AI. If an AI with new trains gets started theres not much you can do except bide your time. Once 9months or more old the AI wont be able to achieve 100% ratings...your new lococs can so will get all the cargo. This takes a while but once unprofitable for four months or more the AI will conceed and rip up those rails. But it will try again elesewhere...or come back again to the same spot later.

This is a good piece of advice, which works well. Thanks for sharing it, Severous.

I build a station near the right factory (see screenshot) to transport goods.
There were so much AI stations there , that i didn't even got a station rating.( the green bar on the right.)I'm the Yellow one.
My town rating was 100 %.
So my line was build in vain.
There was only one station that livered to the factory, this is the red company in the middle, providing it with chemicals.
I decided to build a new factory, to catch that area.
The new factory is on the left.
Now i get all the goods and the right factory produces nothing anymore.
In this way all 3 AI stations on the right, are out of reach and become nothing from production anymore.
So i can wipe out the AI now.
