Are You Asking a Graphics Question? (Must read)

Post by Alltaken » 20 Aug 2005 04:05

Ok guys, here are some common questions that we are getting in this forum, I would like to make this an FAQ post.

1. How do I install GRF files,
How do I get TTDPatch graphics into OTTD?

You visit this thread here to find out how to put the GRF files into OTTD
http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php?t=9424

You visit this page here to view what GRF files work with OTTD (it may be empty, if you have info about which work or not please edit the page at the Wiki to include these GRF sets)
http://wiki.openttd.org/index.php/GRF_list

2. When will the New GFX be ready, and where can I download them

There isn't yet a complete set of replacement graphics. The time frame for any of the projects to be completed is "when it's done", although estimates for the normal scale 8bpp replacement set can be found here.

Most screen shots currently are mock-ups, or use yet to be released graphics.

8bpp Graphics Replacement: More Information can be found here
32bpp Graphics: A list of graphics currently available can be found here.
32bpp Full Zoom: The latest work can be found in this thread, and a list of currently available graphics can be found here.

3. How can I help with the New 32bpp GFX development?

You can learn how to use Blender, or another 3D package. Blender is available from here and is open source.

If you code rather than do GFX then we also need your help....

More info for people who wish to help is available here

If you wish to suggest more common questions, or point out mistakes... then please PM me, this thread is otherwise locked to avoid replies.
