Full screen but no sound.. :(

Post by Zoeff »

I followed the instructions in the readme's, using XP. Installed it etc etc
I searched the forum and found nothing.

Now, it says that if you experiance problems with windowed mode OR no sound, then change the compatibility mode. I have BOTH problems, and it only fixed the windowed mode problem. I still have no sound.

I can't remember what mirror i used to download TTD so if you want to you can show me you're mirror and ill use that install. Then follow you're instructions. (So you are sure its not the game itself)

If you need any more info then please ask and i'll give you a full report...

I really wanna play this classic again! :D

Only save the settings. "Run" will try to run the unpatched TTD, which isn't able to run without the patch. Start the patch manually instead.

Another thing, if you want you can play the music using winamp !!!

You need to go in dos prompt and rename the .gm files into .mp3 files, then you can play them with winamp

It's been while , but I think it's like this

You do have the sound files, don't you?

(gm/*.gm (1 MB) + sample.cat (1,5 MB) IIRC)

Blah... i need to somehow turn up the volume. I checked the game volume itself in the jazzbox thingy and its full there too. Strange.

EDIT:
Also, there is no music, just sound effects. o.O

Close, but you need to rename them to .mid, not .mp3
